Flywheel Difference

Is anyone familiar with the differences between the flywheels from LSJ to LNF? The LSJ flywheel is just over $100, while the LNF flywheel is a little over $550. That's a pretty big difference, so I'm assuming some improvement was made.

Any info would be appreciated!

werd, the LNF flywheel and clutch i do believe to be larger than the LSJ one which would be one reason it costs more tho your numbers seem WAY off. Links?

i believe the clutch/flywheel combo that GM sells as an upgrade for the LSJ is just the SS/TC compnents. It probably has something to do with being much stronger to handle the no-lift-shift abilities.

you should buy one of each and build a contraption to do load tests for clutches.

I was just going off GM Parts Direct pricing.

That could probably be incorporated into an engine dyno, but I'm betting it would be extremely expensive!

The LNF flywheel is a dual mass variety designed to take low frequency oscillations out of the drivetrain. Just like my LT1 vette. Weight 55lbs like my LT1 vette too.

I'd rather have a light flywheel than that heavy ass one.

Overall the LNF has a much bigger clutch than the LSJ.

55 pounds is alot for a daul mass flywheel in FWD my svt focus was only 33 lbs and if thats the case changin the flywheel would make a huge difference in performance.
