Blinded by the zfr? Certainly not. thats just my logic. Never said my logic was law. When I was looking for turbos I considred the bnr. I saw many guys make great power on them but I didn't want a bov on my setup. I also didn't want to send my Ko4 in so to me the zfr was the better deal, and that's my opinion.but For me it was. I also looked at precision turbos and others as well. The zfr workslike advertised for me so I am happy. I also didn't break my OEM pipe on 26 psi, it was fine. I changed my pipes cause I saw the zzp onsomeone else car and I was like dayum that looks good. My stock I/c hasntbroke either. Either way op can make good power by pushing ko4 or can upgrade and make the same or more without pushing the turbo as hard with a bnr or zfr.its whatever he feels is the bettervalue to him

Oh btw here is a efr6758 on 91 Oct

Wanna know why I really went to the zfr, I got mine brand new and at a cheaper price that you can buy a bnr brand new including everything with the set up inlcuding, turbo, core charge, bov, and more. I could pass it up at all...

My car made 400/400 around 22psi 93oct and it was only 12* timing. I later found a few problems with the install so it would have been better. My turbo might not be blown and i haven't had time to look at it. Mine also had YEARS of abuse so i think something else is up with the other 2 that lasted a couple months. I also never took mine past 27psi.

Push it 29+psi and out of its efficiency and it probably wont last long.

Edit: its only a $1400 turbo

I agree on the 29psi. Efr is 1631.53 a zfr is 2000 and zfr is what the thread is talking about and why i said 2000. But either way pushing too much psi in these seems to be killing them

the zfr is basically the 6758 customized to be a"bolt on" for the cobalt. It has a custom made compressor housing, comes already clocked for our engine bay, modified to work with our stock dp..well o2 housing and exhaust manifold, then the fittings and lines for the oil and coolant. So thats where im sure where the price difference is.

I'm not sure if it's the higher psi or the parts that make it a zfr. Me and Matt O had the first ones and I think he got his from werks also, but ours have lasted years. Ours were custom exhaust manifolds also.

higher psi? You mean the canisters? I think its just the parts.....but the early ZFRs did come with the medium boost canisters I think, then they changed them out to the high boost

yeah the ZFR is a good product. I think the earlier EFRs were having issues.
