that's f'd up, I got mine done for free under warranty because the mechanics dectected those same codes off their OBDII, if that wasn't the case I would have gotten screwed like you and paid for it. So far I'm on day 3 with no issues to report.

Well guys....I'm really hoping that this fixes my issues with drivability, power loss and laggy feeling. The only thing that makes me think it isn't is because I haven't had the p2261 code and that I have only had the p0236 code once.

The funny part is I did have a code.

So any ideas on what to try if soldering the wires don't work...the drivability in my car is kinda crappy. First gear is laggy and will hardly spin the tires, second isn't as beastly as it used to be, third is kinda laggy as well.

Just wanna get my ducks lined up in case this doesn't work

here's an idea! You could run it off the road into the Atlantic Ocean and watch it sail next to Greenland. that would cure all your problems.

Yah, but I would rather just fix it....

The other day I was doing a third gear pull and the boost gauge hit a 160ish kpa spike...first time I have ever seen it happen. Could this be a sign of something. I usually see about 120-140kpa max.

I don't know how else to say it, I have researhed this problem to lead to the cure from other forums besides cobalts, like the sky and the solstice forums, which they all have the same engine and transmission, just different drivetrain and body look style with GMS1 equipped. They all had the same problem and they all had said to "solder the wires". I heard the same thing from the guy in Raleigh. So, solder the wires and pray its the cure to your problem. I didn't hesistate and questioned, I just did it like "Nike".

My wires are soldered and it still does it.

I took my hahn intake off, so now I completely stock with GMS1 and I have not had any more issues boosting past 5 psi randomly, BUT my gears still suck. I cant spin the tires in 1st or 2nd gear, when the car used to torch them.... bringing in tommorow now that its all stock.

Try cleaning your MAF. Check your plugs. Check for boost leaks.

Glad my dealership that installed the kit soldered them to begin with... However JT, I did find out the reason why my idle was messed up on a cold start... wasn't a vacuum leak. It was the catalyst stuff that Vince disabled on your car. Apparently with that enabled it happens. I have it disabled as well now, and no issues anymore.

Cleaned my maf, put new stock plugs in and did a boost leak test with 25 psi of pressure. Unless my maf has gone bad. The car kinda feels like it did when I had the dejon intake on the car.

If the wires are soldered try wiggling them a bit and see if the car falls into limp mode when you drive it. There is also a possibility that one of the sensors has gone bad. I've seen that become an issue. Or the solenoid on top of the intake that holds the 3 hoses has gone bad as well.

If the solenoid was bad, would it cause a code or cel? The wires aren't soldered yet....they will be tomorrow.

I think you would know. If the car is doing it at random and your wires aren't soldered I'm going to say that is more than likely the problem. in order for me to get a code it took the car staying in limp mode for a very long time turning it off and turning it back on and still staying in limp mode for me to get a code that just went away.

Soldering fixed my problem. Still no issues. I think it will do the same with yours.

get some of that MAF Cleaner (CSR I think) at Advance Auto Parts. Spray the entire MAF, don't let the straw at the end touch the two wires on the MAF, and let it dry itself out. I already done it once to clean the MAF from the K&N filter without issues.

Keep us updated because this is exactly what I'm experiencing with my car.

I forgot to update.... I had my wires soldered and it still doing the same. The cars not performing 100% like it should be and the power just isn't there. I'm re cleaning the maf sensor again but I don't think that's it. I think I have a leak eithe boost or vacuum (leaning more towards vacuum since my boost test didn't bring up anything). What's a good way to test for vacuum leaks and testing the wastegate. I have a feeling that the wastegate could be sticking because the car builds boost but the power isn't there.

I had a couple pin holes in the synapse but I got them welded up and I pressure tested the whole system to 25 psi, plus I tested the ic to 30psi. If anything I think I may have a vac leak.

I even had this issue with my stock ic that's why i kept switching it out to see if it was the issue and it wasn't. I even put my stock CPs back on and it did the same lol. This car ******* hates me I swear.
