ive never had any issues with his tweaks. most of the time i receive them the same day if not the next day. i just make sure to check his website to see if hes on vacation or going on vacation. its also good to call him before and tell him your sending him a datalog for him to look at.

We've been talking over email, but my logs take a long time for some reason. I just put a new K&N SRI on and sent him a log last Monday and still nothing. I'll shoot him a reminder email.

He even told me it's okay to drive on my 11.7 LTFT's 75 miles one way to Colorado Springs. So he knows about it.

You posted a while back Vahdyx that BYT was joining forces with Vince whatever happened with that? Where did you hear that from anyway?

I was actually wrong about that unfortunately. Both Vince and BYT told me the same different story.

Vince is letting BYT tune using Tatrix cable and Vince is in the process of hiring someone else to assist in tuning to minimize delay. So BYT isn't going to be tuning for Vince, but he'll be able to put his own flavor for those with Tatrix cable. So it's an alternative to HPT as well as Trifecta. As for the ETA of BYT getting that capability has been put on delay and probably won't happen for awhile. I imagine Vince is in the process of working on Sonic, Buick and Cruze stuff at the moment. I wouldn't think Vince would put BYT as priority since it'll be in direct competition for his stuff.

Sorry about the mess up

When I was working with him on tweaking up the full E85 stuff, it was usually within an hour or so for updates. Normally the same day though. The busier he gets the longer it takes. He has a family life also.

When I was working with Vince on the GMS3 project he would get back to me by the end of the day or the following morning. If he was going to be busy he would let me know.

Vince is the man!

If you're someone he knows, and especially if you give him a heads up - he seems quite prompt;

I would think that if you're just some guy sending an email or leaving a voicemail, you would be low on the priority list only becasue he has himself stretched thin to begin with...

From my experience I generally have updates within a couple days ~ but also I have never been in any crunch to get an update in any specified time frame...

but hey, that's just my take

One day Nick will be able to setup some kind of long distance remote tuning jig. He told me he'd really like to get that underway last time I saw him and I think he even posted on his website a poll asking how many would be interested? Im not sure how close he was to the idea getting completed but it sounds pretty cool.

He would send you a data cable and some software you load up (with the intent of you sending it back and such) and then via the internet he could view your tables and make prompt adjustments while communicating over the phone (using the GM bluetooth will probably make this easy as he gives you directions on what to do.)

When's the last time anyone has heard from Vince?

Last time I heard from him was November 17th, I've replied to that e-mail, along with left a voicemail. At this point I could have had the cable, and the tweaks needed to get my HHR driveable again (honestly would take him 2 minutes perform, another 2 to e-mail me the file).

Despite being in storage I still fully insure it and it hasn't snowed yet. Rather frustrating to me right now.

I disagree, I'm not trying to say we're best friends, but I email him frequently. Asking stupid questions like spark plugs, telling him about my plans for my car. Advice on getting a GTI, asking if he does other cars besides GM etc.

It's not like I'm a random guy. I'm pretty sure he knows me by name and situation. When I told him I'm going to HPT, he as disappointed and when I came back to TF tunes he even stated, "I thought you left for HPT!"

Soooo...

If anything, I'm the annoying customer...

I hope I'm not lol...

As do I, I also have a "work life" where 8-12 hours a day I take care of my customers.

You know I gave him a chance the first time, but it's not hard to communicate with someone over a 2+ week period especially after having a couple days of solid "what are we doing" discussion. My HHR is down with the GM stage sensors installed, yes by choice, but there has been a couple days now as no snow has shown nor has salt been spread.

This is simple-
Vince: tweaks needed?
Me: accommodate for GM sensors, up boost reduction in 1st gear
Vince: *spend 5 mins* e-mail me file, mail cable
Me: pay Trifecta another couple hundred, have running car
Both: profit

/rocket science

I think I'm done with the ZZP tuning debate though, and my car will end up on their dyno this Spring and be a further ZZP poster car .

I got a response from Vince about my intake last Wednesday which I sent the log over a week before that. Now im waiting for another tweak. If Thursday comes it will be another week. So essentially about 3 weeks and still tuning for a K&N SRI
