**** em, be rude... The people that want something for nothing should get a hobby like watching grass grow in the park... that is free. Cars cost money, mods cost money, and getting the good stuff so your motor doesn't explode like a Manhattan Project blooper reel cost money.

But Ill entertain the thread with the actual story here. And the other people that have tuned your car and seen what I saw, please speak up as well this go round.

To start, when you came and popped your hood it was soaked in oil, EVERYTHING was soaked in oil. In fact, I sopped up a puddle of it on your valve cover even. You claimed "It's from the BOV, don't worry about it". HUH?!? That makes no sense. You then go on to laugh about how you beat the living **** out of your car and your Dad or Uncle (I honestly forget which it was now) builds race engines so you planned on driving the pants off of it and then having one of them build you a motor.

You also asked for an extremely aggressive tune on your car and wanted really high boost, 30psi, which I said then I wouldn't do but I would go as high as 25. I obliged going by your plans on building the motor in the future.

After our initial discussion I installed the parts you wanted installed and then checked over the car quickly after noting all of the oil. We also found your Breather line Check Valve was in BACKWARDS.. I did a Comp Test on your motor even because I was worried and said 1 cylinder is down about 5psi compared to the rest. May or may not be anything to worry about but just something I noted. I stated at this point I was hesitant to tune your car, I don't want to be held responsible when this thing blows. You stated right then and there "I wouldn't blame you, I beat my car and drive it hard! *laughing goes here*"

We load up my base tune that I always start with and I told him to drive easy and normal so we can get some cruise data and then we will try a SHORT pull to see where the boost was at (I did raise the DAL column a bit to make 25psi, only difference from what I normally start with). Within 2 minutes of driving the car I ask him to do a short burst in 3rd to see where the boost comes to, it comes up to just about 26 so I tell him OK let off, we'll drop it down a lil bit. (again, he wanted 25psi and an aggressive tune!) Right after saying that, he drops to 2nd and does a pull thru 2nd NLS'd to 3rd and keeps pulling. I said ok, or we'll just do a pull now.. lol..

We then pull over so I can make some adjustments and I told him something smells and my eyes are stinging, wtf.. (it's night time btw) There's a LOT of smoke.. The car was still running OK but def sounded a lil off now. I told him let's just go back to my house and check it out please. We're a block away from my place.. He pulls off the side street and rips it yet again, I even said, what are you doing??!?! "I wanted to see if it will clear out" (note the quotes). Then he starts panic;ing and immediately blaming me, the tune blew my engine etc.. I told him that is just NOT possible. While the boost was a lil higher then he wanted, the car was still set rich and with barely over stock timing as well! I've ran out to 30psi for 10,000 miles on my car without an issue, I even tracked it regularly like that.

We get back to my place and check the Comp yet again, the cylinder that was low is now quite low and blowing oil. I told him to take it easy and limp it home. He was even laughing with me saying, "well, looks like I will build it right away now lol"

He had my tune on the car for maybe 10 minutes and maybe 5 miles of driving.. I then talked to other people that had tuned his car for him previously (His car had been tuned for quite awhile, long before coming to me, this was NOT a stock car) and they told me they had a similar experience with him. They also backed up what he had said about him beating the living **** out of his car.

As for the PM's and not answering them, that is a FLAT OUT LIE now.. You contacted me when the motor was back together and I told you to let me know what dates are good and we can check the tune out. He didn't contact me back. The BWW meet was coming up and he was on the list to come. He then contacted me again and I told him I will be at that meet and I will gladly check it out for him there. He didn't come to the meet or contact me again after that.

We never got to fully dial in your tune on your car since we barely drove it that day. The fact that you went out and continued to have your fun in it is not my problem. You know the tune needed to be adjusted and you should know after changing all kinds of parts that it really should be checked out before going hog wild in the car. Im sorry you are having bad luck but there's no need to insult myself because of your lack of thought or care for your own car. Yes, I work out of my house. I am however an official business and we are moving to an actual shop in the next couple months. Not sure what that proves.. There's plenty of great tuners out there that work from their home and don't even own a business.

Since this incident happened last year and you tried to hang it on me last time, I have since started making people fill out a basic form. It states your mods and car's condition. It has a spot where I can note things like "Qt of oil in the valve cover recess had to be soaked up and Breather check valve backwards AND beats car to death" and then we both sign off on it. So I thank you for being my learning experience at least..
I would let u Tune my SS\SC any day , any night ,any hour etc etc. i wish i was close enough to come to u for a tune. u Straight up sound like a great tuner bizness owner.

Thank you

I take this VERY seriously. Ive been on the other side of SHITTY SHITTY tuner shops and strive to never ever be like them or leave people feeling the way I have. Which is why I can't wait to open my shop in my town to wipe this other shitty shop off the map.. They don't deserve to change oil..

You got it.. lol.

LONG long ago I dropped a LOT of money to do my Subaru there. I paid for a motor swap, standalone and then tuned. I took the week off of work and did most of the mechanical portion of the swap myself, then helped install the standalone. It then sat there for 4 months while he kept feeding me excuses.. Long story short, I took the car and that's what I learned to tune on. We then had it out over the redic bill and how I refused to pay them full price for work "I" did and how they left me with a car that STILL didn't run lol.. I ended up tearing the standalone out of the car, returned it to them and the bill was dropped. It was a total nightmare and took me forever to repair everything that they did do. From that point on, I did my own work and just started reading a lot. This was back in 01-02.

That's bad... They were charging you for work you did on your own car?!?! wow. At least now you can do things right... so I suppose we should all write a thank you letter to the owner of the previous shop for being an idiot and forcing you into your new business. The outcome benefits everyone else in the end.

to the OP. dont bash a tuner for your car messing up. you should realize that there are risks to getting a car tuned and you could have just left your car stock and not had any issues at all.. just my .02.

NP! Once we get into the new place and get the dyno, it will only benefit EVERYONE. Even other tuners out there, believe it or not, we share a lot behind the scenes. This will help test everyone's ideas

We all know the OP is just full of it and blowing his ignorance and stupidity out on the internet.

A lot of people look up to Nick (me included) and he has a lot of experience and knowledge on ALL things automotive. Although I am not personally tuned by him, I do have some of his suggestions and techniques applied to my own tune that I have done as well as worked on with another tuner. My tune is compiled of information shared by Nick himself as well as other tuners who shared their experiences and findings (Term, IamBroke, GMTech just to name a few) and some tweaks of my own to suit my car and needs. There is information he has gracefully provided for the community that is tested and proven throught. There are many long term BYT tunes out there still going strong and without issue over thousands of miles and countless drag runs, street races and auto-X's.

I have even considered sending my own personal tune to be reviewed by Nick for any input, advice or corrections he may suggest. And I would be more than happy to compensate for his time *wink wink*, Nick.

So OP, to sum up... You suck and are completely retarded. Thank you and as always, have a nice day.

Most companies do not respond within 24 hours the average seems to be around 3-5 business days. So if you got a response in 5 days thats not bad at all IMO.

I get roughly 1300+ emails a day i have to sort through, plus handle all other details of my LLC. Thats not easy and people with any sense should understand.

Not directing this last part at you gotboost even though its quoted to you.

For a few weekends we were very busy all weekend. So if you did contact us on a Friday, it was very possible that we didn't get back to you until Monday. Most inquiries are answered almost immediately and people that are customers get immediate responses for their tune updates

Edit: I should also add we realized this was an issue and we now added a dedicated shop line and I also have someone else answering the Request for Quotes that come in to help. We are growing quickly and correcting things as they come up!
