Technically, there is no such thing on production vehicles. It most definitely does exist though - its the ultimate in nanny state / big brother technology for cars, including a black box that records what you were doing at the time of a wreck, or if the cop wants to stop you for speeding he can read that data to see if you were speeding...

Read up on it - the SAE is pushing to get it into cars - along with nice modifications like hoods that don't open so all the work needs to be done by dropping the engine.
