Thats exactly what I'm looking at. C6 Z.
I was looking at evos too, but I'll be doing the same thing again and spending even more money to get power and reliability out of that, but i do love a well setup evo.
At some point I think everyone who has taken this car as far as I or others have, or further, get tired of it and moved on. Its an economy car with some performance parts, vs a purpose built performance car. I believe I'm at that point now where I'm going to sell it while its still relatively a new engine/setup.

its because its FWD. if this car was RWD nobody would get rid of it. you can only take FWD so far without it getting ridiculous to even drive on the street. I wasn't near your point, but I had an EFR on E50 and I shredded tires. Decided to just get out of it at that point.

But in all honestly, im glad my sedan is only intake, exhaust, tune. Its my daily driver, street car. Its the perfect combo of fun and practicality.

$7704 on the build, including clutch, and misc parts like wastegate bov and pistons/rods. car is worth $3800 fair condition private sale on kbb with 155,000 miles on the chassis. What do you guys think is a fair deal for it if I threw in all spare parts and the old trans with lsd blown 3rd, and old LNF long block and about 5,000 miles on the new setup. I’d imagine the current 4.05 trans would need the synchros replaced so I’m taking that into account too.

I’ll try to get ahold of that guy that rebuilds the f35 in the states and see if I can get it rebuilt. Or maybe buy another 4.05 F35 to put in there. I want the car to be good to go for the next guy and I’m leaving the built setup in there. I have my old 3.82 lsd with blown 3rd but it don’t know if it’s worth anything.

Moving on to a corvette, what's your intentions with that and just a heads up, do you know cost of modding one. Back when I sold the cobalt I put it back to 100% stock and sold it. I made a ton doing it that way, and put the 24k I got into the build on the vette. You'd prolly only get 2000 for your motor on a good day, now if you had a forged ldk with oorted head and all that its worth it, you can buy a ldk for 2500 with the turbo still or find a good drop out for around 2 so your doing a lot of work for no real gain. Then have to find stock charge pipes and intercooler and all that if you don't have it now. Hope that helps before you jump into a huge mess.

I’ll tune the vette, cam and heads, and just road trip it for a few years. Maybe Procharger down the road.
The cobalt build is pretty much like yours, completely built, but stage 2 cams instead of your stage 3. Fully forged, studs, etc. I have had this car for like 6 years, I think it’s time to move on and up.
i was throwing around the idea of putting a used low miles LNF in it and dumping it, ut how hard would it be to make the money back on the built setup then? Would anyone even want it?

Someone would buy it I'm sure, for how much I'm not sure. If you have a ported head then it's prolly worth it, not that it's the only factor but for what you'd get from your built short block its going to cost you for a drop out long block most likely, where as youd get another 750-1000 extra for a built head as well. C6z heads cam intake car is a very nice set up. I hate messing with mine sometimes, maybe I'm just getting old haha.

And getting old is why I’m getting out of a cobalt and into a vette lol. The guy who rebuilds the F35 said that the trans has too many miles on it and would not be Worth rebuilding, and to look for a good used one. Which is the next step.
Rather than deal deal with the hassle of finding a drop in engine again, I’d rather just put in a used 4.05 again and sell it. Maybe I’ll get back what’s in the build and just forget about the car worth.

With the motor setup you have I would advertise it at $7500 with a decent trans. Even with the miles you should be able to get that with what you done to it. Some people like them already done. Unless it looks like crap.
My cobalt is a garage queen and it's in terrific shape with no issues, that's why I haven't moved on. Just can't stomach spending all that cash when there is nothing wrong with it. 6758 going on over the winter and I will be shooting for high 11's in the 1/4 next year. I'm still having fun with it, but I've paced myself on upgrading it due to not wanting to get bored too quick. Friend of mine has a built c5z and it sounds so good with the big cams. Funny thing is it's not much different than mines gonna be- he can hardly get traction in it just like I will be next year. So fwd or rwd can both suffer from it. He has the widest tires you can put on it also. Literally gets sideways at 90mph when he is full throttle.

Chris- he is running the Goodyear run flats, that may be his issue. He also has no traction control. It is also a stick car, don't know if that makes a difference. Rpm performance in Indy, tuned it. He won't say what kind of power he has, but I know it's up there. Any more and they were worried about the trans breaking.

Actually the stock fuel line o ring that comes out of the tank to the fuel feed busted and pumped about 10 gallons of e47 onto the road while driving a few weeks ago. Pressed in a new 6an barb to replace the factory crap and that’s fixed. Waiting on my bonus check to buy another 4.05. I haven’t driven the car in a few weeks. Carpooling to work with my gf saving gas.
The vette, a c6 z06 to be exact, is decided to be the next vehicle. I gotta get out of this sh*t town and move before that happens though, then big nasty heads cam tune LS7.

I guess that's why I never went too crazy with mine.
I love to read the build posts, but I couldn't see pumping that much into the car. I like it for what it is - fast enough and I am able to drive it to work.
Good luck with the sale.

Thought I'd bump this up.
The SS and I are still around. I drive it once in awhile, my girl and I carpool to work in her car to save gas. Its on 93 octane and 27psi usually. 2nd Gear synchro in the 4.05 F35 is still shot, so I have to go 1 - 3 - 2 to go from first to second gear, otherwise 1 - 2 grinds bad, its annoying but driveable.
Future plans for it:
-Replace trans with another 4.05 or 4.45 F35
-T51R mod on the S257
-ZZP high flow HPFP to go full E85 since I already have Opels, and stage 2 cams
The Hallman MBC with the cockpit cable are by far the best and easiest way to control boost on this setup, turn the knob while driving down the road and adjust boost to whatever you want is nice.
I will update as things happen
Oh, and heres a short timelapse building some of the LDK, battery ran out or would've been longer:
