Buttoning up the new clutch install tomorrow I'm tired. New clutch is in though and bled. Pedal is much stiffer, might be tough to slip. But feels like it doesn't engage at the top like all the old stage 3 did.

something went wrong with the 4+, it was not really making much contact on the one side of the disk, causing slipping and hot spots. I'd say pressure plate issue, otherwise it may have held just fine.

That pressure plate looks bad. It also looks like the clutch disk was only making contact in the center. I'm glad you got it out of there, and hope the new one works well.

New frankencluth is done, easier than I thought to drive. Engages near the bottom of the pedal like stock so they fixed that weird pedal engagement that the stage 3 had. Time to break it in now and hope for the best.

Oh and I switched to a hallman rx evolution 😁. Cockpit adjustment ftw.

SO far so good. With 150ish miles on it. It drives just like a stage 3 does, engagement is perfect and low, feels like factory except much heavier pedal. It takes some getting used to with the heavy pedal but I've had worse in my T56 camaro way back when.

Engine is still running perfectly, put a turbo blanket on the hotside to minimize my wiring looms melting back near the firewall lol.

Its a HUGE PITA to install, gotta do it from under the car. But I HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting one, it really cut down underhood temps.

About 700 miles on the new clutch, holds fine on high boost on 93. I'll switch over the e47 and see what happens next. It drives fine too very easy to daily drive.

Happy to hear this is holding well for you. I finished the install of my replacement over the weekend and definitely agree, it's much easier to drive and I enjoy the heavier pedal.

It may get harsh on engagement in the first like 200 miles, after that it smooths right back out. I'm a happy camper. Did they set you up same setup as me?

I haven't noticed the engagement getting more harsh but the pedal is definitely heavier.

Yeah, stage 5 PP and the 6 puck kevlar ceramic disc

Still going strong. Hallman evo pro rx is also doing well, spool is very manageable, and part throttle full boost is non existent with a turbo this size. Very happy with everything. 93 tune is dialed in. Gotta switch over to e47.

Filled up last week on E47, the quality of the fuel at my station down the street from where i live is the best I've ever seen, E90 or above lol.

So far the tune is on 23* timing, and .87 lambda on a base boost of 25psi to start with the injection start angle tuned a bit earlier. Im making sure the fuel trims are settled in and the fueling is 100% before turning it up little by little to pay close attention to fuel pressure and injector DC and injector timing. I have the stage 2 cams and opels, I'm not sure how far that will take me on E47, hopefully up to 28-29psi, maybe, we'll see. The 5th injector is just there if i need it, but not active as of now.

I found a gas station that tested 90%, I was tickled. Then I tested some flex fuel from my local chain, which should test 51-83% and is labeled as such, but it also tested at 88%. It seems all I've been testing is up over prior years.

We are also talking about summer gas which should be very high ethanol content. Winter is the bigger issue when it drops to the 50-75% range.

Yes, I checked my local station in Feb or March when they first started carrying the "Flex Fuel", note, it doesn't say E85, it tested at an even 70%. Even so being the mix is higher in summer, the 88% was a welcome surprise. I have an on board E tester also using a flex fuel sensor which is nice for keeping tabs on the status of the mix in my tank.

This car is nuts on E47. Targeting .88-.89 lambda on 17MPa fuel pressure (yes its holding so far thanks to cam fuel lobe) had to really work on injector timing table to get injector pulse width down for more headroom (6.5ms peak now) as well as bump fuel pressure a bit, but theres headroom now on 26psi, and theres still some wiggle room left in the tables for a bit more adjustment. Turning it up today a bit.

I want to see how far i can go without the 5th injector to basically see the limitations of the stage 2 cams with opels and AEM fuel pump.

Well since ZZP won't sell me just a fuel controller instead of the entire kit...........fine....

So for future bc I know I'm going to need the 5th injector eventually. Testing with my old style AEM meth controller, it actuates the deka 630cc injector just fine. It may not be an ideal pulse width but it works and I'm gonna try it out.

Going to tap into the MAF signal wire via ZZP's MAF extension harness and run it to the AEM controller in the cabin. 4000hz to 14000hz is plenty of adjustement, have it come in around 8500hz (15psi on my logs) and full around ~12000hz (max i've seen so far in my logs). This should make tuning it quite easy rather than relative pressure controllers (boost pressure).

So i bought this, gotta wait for Amazon now:
