Interesting (and good information as our feature assumes a pre-programmed launch RPM of 4500 RPM).

It turns out that the launch RPM "policy" is owned by a module other than the ECM (engine control module). Either the BCM (body control module) or the EBCM (electronic brake control module - ABS/TCS) monitors the engine RPM broadcast by the ECM, and when the pre-determined launch RPM is hit the ECM is requested to shut the engine torque down temporarily until the RPM is below the launch RPM, then engine torque is turned back on.

Over time, if GM ever changed the launch RPM in the BCM/EBCM programming, and your car didn't have the latest updates, it might behave differently than others.

I couldn't make that work on my car - I only tried changing it in one spot though, not both.

At any rate, our setup is tied to the launch control feature, now, so you only get the rev limit if launch control is active, rather than when it is in neutral at any time, for people that want to use it.

Now my question is can we get rid of the factory launch control and NLS? This is awsome for most people but I stand by the N2MB wotbox. I turn off the launch control and the 2 step of the wotbox works great but I think the NLS of the wotbox interfers with the factory one.

This adjustable feature can be used to raise the factory launch control RPM to something beyond the stock rev limiter effectively disabling it.

The NLS feature uses a fuel cut / timing cut algorithm to control engine speed whereas the standard rev limiter is ETC based. I might recommend simply setting the stock rev limiter higher than your WOT box limiter (e.g. stock rev limiter to 7000 RPM if your WOT box is set to 6500 RPM).

If that's even how the wotbox works - I've never used one before.

Yep - just shoot me email and let me know what launch control speed you want. We need to finish it up for '09 and '10 cars, but it's ready for '08 now.

Awesome. I've got some data logging to do in the spring when I get my new parts installed, so I'll just wait till then.

Figured this would happen soon, I won't be getting a tune for a while due to finances so hopefully v2 will be out with the adjustable rpm. Way to go Vince

Wow, that's weird. What model year is your car, and the others that launch at 5k?

hell yeah

+1 for Vince...

shot him an email and within a few minutes he'd responded... this guy goes beyond what I would expect a tuner to do... not that i'm complaining... but Vince is by far the best thing to ever happen to the LNF tuning community

I can't wait to actually have a useful Launch Control, I mean its cool to show off to people who have never been in your car now, but lets be honest, its not very useful, lol...

maybe now we can show it off as a novelty AND actually use the damn thing

whoever the dumb ass was that thought 265 ft-lbs of torque(stock), fwd, shitty continental tires(stock), and a 5100rpm launch was a good idea... well, i'd like to kick that guy straight in the cod sack

with 320+ ft.lbs of torque even with better tires, it pretty much just laughs at you when you try to use it
