oh i just linked them from facebook so idk if that matters or not

but yeah i am taking lots of pictures of everything but the exhaust side of the turbo was trashed and the o2 housing had lots of burnt oil in it

like idk its just crazy how this happens i have less stuff done and made less power then others but hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else

there really isnt alot different going on between the lnf and the lsj. there are a few block modications and heads are obviously way different for the hpfp and phasing system but its still a verry straight forward motor to build and or clean up. i hope you didnt score your cylinder too bad usually the ring lands going cause some significant scratching.

cylinder1 took a **** on me last year and got a new motor under warranty....
the ring went, caused damage to the piston, then the cylinder wall....bad oil problem like that too but not as bad lol, car sounded like a subi and could still get into boost, just ran like complete ****....
so hopefully all you'll have to do is get new pistons/rings, sleeve the block, and get everything straight at the machine shop...

i had a piston fail on me over the summer all they did was replace the piston not the motor
but this time i was just driving and i noticed a little smoke thinking it was just blowby or something babied the car and a week later i was driving and boom just started smoking like crazy and i pulled over and got it towed

but after we get it apart i am taking it to a machine shop and then will order parts from there

i know so far i am going to need pistons, rings, and turbo

didn't think a cracked a piston had a light score on the wall nothing too deep so the machine shop can take car of it, i am going to see about getting my turbo rebuilt it has play but may still be able to last me for a while, but it makes sense why the motor was leaking the oil b/c it i had a hole

yup, that doesnt look like a very good seal between the piston and sleeve,

definately a chunk missing. Are you a catless DP? If so I bet someone got to see a chunk of piston fly out. Also what probably took out the turbo.

yeah i guess so but the thing is that i don't know when this happened exactly like it wasn't like i heard a loud boom or anything, the car was smoking one day and the next time i drove it all the big clouds of white smoke came out everywhere

i am just glad finally figured out whats wrong and now i can get the car fixed

Who tuned your car, what type of fuel did you run(91,93,e85,meth), and what kind of boost level were you set at? Seems awfully weird for your car to break a piston twice. I hope you aren't putting stock pistons back in if you are going to keep running it with your previous tune and you're already down that far anyways.

no i'm not putting stock pistons back in the car that would be dumb, this car has been acting weird since the day i got it last year, but hopefully eveyrthing from now is smooth sailing. but as far as the car it was a simple bolt on car not even half as aggressive as a lot of the other ones on the site, 93 octane daily driven.

Ah, ok. Just thought it was weird that two different pistons on two different cylinders failed at seperate times was all, man. Nothing against ya.
