my buddy had a random failure with some CP Pistons on his K-Series motor... about a 1/4" chunk of piston missing and it didnt hit the head, valves, get stuck in the exhaust or anything... it just effin' vanished...
doesnt weisco have a forged LNF piston with a "revised fuel bowl"?

but yeah i am waiting to finalize somethings with a member on here for a set of pistons and rods
wow! you guys and your high mileage LNFs!
I thought I was high but im 56k.
Anyway, Jeremy got the same tune I got. a BYT tune on the February Dyno day. The tune I got that day needed some adjustments according to the data my Aeroforce guage displayed. I never pushed it really hard with that tune and I usually ran the stock tune except on a few days I planned on having some fun.
Im thinking Jeremey needed a retune (not sure if you got one) at the time too. My retune Nick did is awesome now, no issues with fuel trims or knock. Anyone that plans to get a tune for the first time, my advice to you is go and get it on a day that the tuner wont be overworked and can focus on you personally and tailor your car just right. I think a dyno day meet is only good for a minor adjustments and tweaks and of course seeing what kinda of power you can make, lol. I just took my tune off this morning and put the stock one back on since its getting pretty cold.

Holy hole BATMAN! Dang dude thats nuts.
I Fused a ring to the ringland on mine beginning of 2010. Caused the piston to crack right there on the ringland but it held together by the ring still. Pulled it out and thank god there wasnt any scoring at all on the cyl wall. Got wiseco's, put them in. Havent had a problem since
Well...except for the intake VVT sprocket taking a **** and throwing my timing off. Easy fix though LOL
Good luck man....MOAAAARRR PICTAAARRZZ!

LOL Yeah a pic of your block in the dinning room table would be pretty epic!
No, this happened on the K04. Same as you, not a very aggressive tune(put down 294). I think it was a coming together of circumstances. 24psi on the K04 was already on the high side and almost out of efficiency range, I had run the car multiple times that night back to back so things were HOT and I NLSd like crazy. All those things came together I think to cause my particular failure. Our stock hypereutectic pistons are stong but can become brittle when you push them passed a certain point, moreso the rings than the pistons really.
