Bad gas can degrade and corrode metals. Its possible but very unlikely....maybe his harness was damaged going to the fpr?

we are banking on the bad gas i mean it has been in the car for a very long time since september
and the research i have done on the code states that a bad fuel filter can be the result of the code and and bad gas can foul the fuel filter, if the pump was damaged or failed the car would not run or stumble at idle, the car starts right up and drives fine, just is in limp mode b/c of the code

the only issue i had with the car before i rebuilt the motor was the piston nothing else so it would be odd for the pump to go bad

There's a valve on your fuel line leading into the high pressure fuel pump right on top of the intake manifold. Hook a fuel pressure tester to that valve with the engine running and check it.

idk i'm not at the shop so i don't know exactly what is going on in much detail

what should i be looking for, i already got the suggestion to check the lines to make sure they aren't pinched

but what psi should it be at when the car is off vs on and idle i read something about 600-800

the strange thing is that the car starts right up when everything i read online is saying the car should struggle and things of that nature

Nah, more like 400-600 on the high pressure side and 40-60 on the low pressure side.

No, theres a low pressure pump in your tank. The only way to read the high pressure side is via the diagnostics port using a computer. The low pressure is what they were reading under the hood.

I'm not sure any scan tool would read it but a GM Tech2, Snap On Diagnostics Computer, or HP Tuners could all read it.

Which one is bad? If its your hpfp, are you sure the head was reassembled correctly?

its the hpfp only reading 190 psi, already told them to order a new one which is coming in tomorrow morning it was suppose to be able to get there today but they said the parts place told them they waited to late to call

thats the only issue with the car...the smoking stopped once they put my catless downpipe on and they are fixing the leak now
