My commute is 95% highway and I used to get 30+ MPG on 93.

Hmm that is my only hesitation. I do like to feel the boost quite often since my right foot is made out of a size 12 chunk of lead. Keep us updated

My car was averaging around 23MPG during my testing, which is actually a little above what I usually see, but there was more highway driving than usual

GOt one pull in tonight, had to back off in third as I saw over 28 lbs boost, gotta cut the DAL's back! Got on it again at 4k & wound it out to redline. No misfires or low fuel rail pressure but I think it was close at 2200 psi. Sent some info to Vince but got a reply his internet connectivity was bad so IDK if we'll see any more tonight from him or not.

Still looks promising, never got this far on >80% ethanol before. MPG Avg still reporting >30, but by my fuel PID remaining calcs in HPT & miles it's closer to 25 which is what I expected.

IAB... Thats good it sounds like. So there is still an issue in the midrange it sounds like or when you were getting 28PSI? You are running all bolt ons correct?

Yes, sounds promising for sure.

Sorry for the tech issues, I'm actually out of town right now and it looks like something happened to my machine back at the office (power failure, internet problems). I'll be back online tomorrow afternoon.

Try dropping it back to like 20psi even and see if it pulls clean. See what the limit of the 2200psi is

I loaded my tables instead of BYT's DAL & MALT, should be more reasonable tomorrow.

Ry - I let off when the boost gauge caught my eye, it was at 28 lbs! I'll post a screencap, BRB...

Yes, fully bolted now, stock turbo. Also pulled a few % fuel in the areas it wanted less.

Oh yeah, no KR false or otherwise in the entire log.

My ***** just got hard. Is your boost set to go that high or did the E85 make it go that high.

LOL.

Well, it ~WAS~ a 24 psi tune before. I guess all the extra fuel added a bit o' boostage in the midrange. I loaded some tamer DAL & MALT tables tonight, we'll see.

Well I can kinda see why as far as the mechanics of the combustion go. We are putting in a ton of fuel with E85... Some of the extra fuel is still going through thermal expansion when it is leaving the cylinder because it isn't fully combusted. Sounds like it would be magic for a big turbo setup well minute the higher EGTs. Or maybe I'm way off I dunno lol I'm jsut excited for the E85 right now haha. Let me know about the "tamer" tables. Maybe we don't need as much fuel as initially anticipated.

The extra fuel has to be there for proper lambda, adding more ethanol adds more oxygen molecules.

Got one pull in this morning at 23 psi, just about hit the fueling wall at 2200 psi fuel pressure, popped twice in the midrange during the pull.

Inj % above 50%, no low fuel pressure CEL logged. 4.6 sec 60 - 100, slightly slower than my 47% E average at these temps (~4.5 sec) but I'm having intake cam actuator issues also right now.

AVG MPG displayed is still over 31, calculated from fuel remaining is around 23-24. Perhaps the fuel mass shift is fooling the BCM into better displayed mileage? IDK.

Have you tried any more Spark advance? I notice you are running 24*... I can't recall exactly but don't LSJs run a few more degrees?

I was running up to 27* from 4k up and a lot more in the midrange than I am now until I vaporized #2 spark plug one day never showing any KR. All at once I logged misfires galore and most of #2 spark plug was gone. Detonation must've got me when I got cocky on the 60% E blend. :-/

OK so you are running it fairly conservative at the 24 then... good news. Whats going on with the intake valves,a s you stated above, that is causing the issues? Is it something the rest of us need to keep an eye out for when switching to E85?

No, it's a separate issue I've had for about a week. My intake cam actuator is popping an intermittent P0010 and stops responding after a while, sometimes the intake cam sits at 0.0*, sometimes it wanders around. The new cam actuator arrived today, hopefully it'll be resolved tonight.

Not whatsoever related to any ethanol . It just decided to die at 57k mi.
