Not Too Bad For Free...

So I was bored today and decided to consult with my box of tubing. Luckily I had a few extra couplers and T clamps laying around so voila, upper hard pipe
I would have made it all one piece, but the top two bends are aluminum and the bottom half is steel. I did manage to re-use the factory bracket location.

I havent done the lower yet. That was all the bends I had in the box LOL. The lower seems to be much less restrictive than the upper was, but I'll get around to doing it eventually when I order some bends and also make the upper one piece.

I take it that you have the tools to weld steel, but not to weld aluminum? I want to kick myself for selling my metal chopsaw, MIG welder, TIG welder, and torch. I thought I was done with all that.

I keep thinking of a lot of imaginative things I can do with my welder, and tubing. Already did a replacement header for a 98 Grand Cherokee. What's so difficult about some sweet, smooth intake plumbing.......

I can weld aluminum, but I have a MIG and the tubing is polished and thin, not so good for the MIG

Good work, Indy! I miss welding. I got married and all that went away.

Cool work - I gotta dig for my header weld photos - its probably the best welds I'll ever make - my stuff seems to have gone downhill! Better show them off before I accidentally post some of the **** I've been slapping together lately!
