. Hopefully I can pull another 10-15 whp out of it....... crosses fingers.
IDK. It would have cost him $499 instead of $280 he spent on his tune, but IMHO. I think he would have a little more power if my tuner loaded my tune into the car. We will just have to wait until he gets his car dynoed again. Even though his tune was pig rich I still think 248 whp was really low. When we were tuning my car we accidently added to much fuel and my A/F went into the 10s. I lost 25 whp or but I still made almost 300 whp SAE on that same dyno. IDK. I still want to see what it really makes now to see how the Trifecta tune compares to mine. I am cam tuning mine in a couple weeks.

Nope. IDK why everybody thinks that. Back on Dec. 23. I had my first round of custom dyno tuning done by BOB and myself at Precision Motorsports here in Florida. This was a while before Trifecta developed their tune. It made 307 whp 330 wrtq. STD. corrected. Tune only.
We have a winner. The richness explains the lack of power. The intake was causing the MAF signal to be skewed which caused the A/F to be so much richer than commanded. It is apparently fixed now. Even I was like WTF when I saw the dyno sheet. The A/F. I had to see the A/F before I understood what was going on.
That dyno reads very accurately. If the A/F is messed up of course the car is not going to make good power. Does not matter how much air it is injesting if the A/F is pig rich!!!! I had my tuning performed on that dyno and the A/F reads dead on to what it was commanded to. Stop blaming the dynos. This is the second or third time I have heard you say that.
Thank You, I dont even have a boosted car anymore and I know this stuff. I've done my fair share of research too. I'm not an expert by any means though, but I do try to help Bryan in any way I can. I'm glad I called this one right, and its not even my car! lol The car pulls a lot harder through the upper rpms now though. Its pretty freakin quick man. I'm still a honda guy but man I am very impressed with the cobalt ss/tc! congrats bryan...now its time to go BIG turbo!
me: ok it is definitely feeling like it may be loosing power towards 5000rpm +
tuner: Yes, looks like there is maybe an air restriction perhaps – I can see clearly in this log a point where boost is fluctuating and airflow stops climbing at 5000 RPM. I don’t know, man, probably one of the parts you installed. I might suggest removing the intake system and see how it does, we’ve seen lots of problems with aftermarket intakes on these cars
any1 else seen these problems with this tune n aftermarket intakes?

Oh, Ok then. Must be the Tune causing the problem because he is back on the stock intake now too he said. Must be the tune I guess. His car had no check engine light on when it was on the dyno.

I'm thinking the tune as well, but I dont know...its just like bryan said...it stops pulling at around 5k like an off switch and even starts bucking and jerking a little. I think I heard a little bit of back fire. his cel didnt come on at all during the ride. its not a boost leak, we know that much.
I'm wondering why bryan is the only guy that seems to have problems with this trifecta tune.

do u know if he is having problem with his tune?
the way his car is running right now reminds me of all the turbo noobs on honda-tech complaining about their cars running like crap on a base map. Right now, that tune must be pretty crappy for it to be running like that. I hope trifecta gets it worked out for you man.

I told him to mash it and watch his A/F and he said he never dipped into the 10s, I think he said 12s.... But I don't remember. I do remember him saying he never hit 10s on his factory wideband (RPD).
Yea, 13.6 is pretty damn good especially because of all of the problems you have been having!!!
