so #1 and #2 are the lash adjuster that broke. what is #3 though?
athere are some scratches on the rockers and cam lobes, will this be a problem? also will i be ok if i put a rocker in a different spot than it was though the wear pattern i different?
it all happened while doing a pull when i shifted from 3rd to 4th. my limiter is set up to 7k and possibly the lash adjuster broke and the valve dropped or i accidentally shifted from 3rd to 2nd. i really dont think its the latter one tho because im really careful about pulling the shifter straight back for that shift, i guess its possible tho...

I think it might have just let go after so long.... Just tired out and gave up.
I also asked because mine is set to 7k without upgraded springs or anything. I think I might be on borrowed time.
honestly couldnt tell you. i bought the car and only put prob 4k miles on it and it has 30120 as of now. i myself probably took it up to 7k 20 times total in the 4k miles i had it. i usually shifted around 6700 just to be safe. there were signs that the car was beat on before me though and i know the rev limiter was set above 7k when i bought it because ive gone to 7200 once before i got it retuned
What springs are you running? I think part of the problem are weak, or out of spec springs. We have only popped ONE on our shop cars, and that was on stock springs. My guess is something else broke before your lash adjuster came off. Typically they just pop off and not shatter like that. I'm guessing valve float and something met not so nicely in there.

Mine has 36,500 and a good 15,000 has been tuned to a 7k redline.... yeeeeeaaahhh, it's time to upgrade my springs....

I'm gonna pull my valve cover this weekend when I do my oil change out of sheer paranoia...
And here is the theory...
Lasher broke, spring and rocker let go. All this looks like it's on cylinder #4. Once the rocker and spring flew out, they caused a chain reaction, hitting the next rocker in line knocking that loose and so on. That's why all of them are laying around like that.
And since that valve dropped, I'd be replacing it as well as it's most likely bent. As a matter of fact... it might be time to just upgrade everything.

You probably shifted from 3rd to 2nd, im 100% sure since that is what happened to me 1.5 weeks ago...

i got a phone while going WOT in 3rd , then shifted into 2nd instead of 4th...
I never missed a single shift and i felt pretty stupid after that...
I have 1 broken lash adjuster, 3 rockers were off, but only one lash broken, i ordered all 16 lash adjusters and bought 3 rockers, they look not too bad but i dont want to take any risk.
So id say if you blew all of them out you were clearly over reving it, it felt really smooth getting into 2nd gear... it was almost easier than it is normaly... lol i quickly pushed on the clutch as soon as i felt the car slowing down, the rpm was at 7500 and going down when i looked at it, but id say it got up to 8500-9000 at 100mph in 2nd gear?
I also have some wear mark on the rocker, but i cannot feel anything with finger nail. and one tiny scratch, barely visible, but i can feel it slightly with the finger nail, on the cam lobe where the lash broke...
As soon as you cant feel anything with a finger nail you should be alright, from what ive been told.

Sorry that you had more damage, took me a while to remove the valve cover, wanted to do it myself and not go to the dealer for that.

wow lots of good information here.
so i also have scratches on the cam, going to check if they can be sanded off. replacing 8 rockers that all are scratched, a valve, retainer and spring. might not go with the 78# ill have to see what the funds are.

Don't be revving to 7+k without those springs... I'm gonna be taking my own advice.
