Sorry to hear it's such a pain. Too bad you didn't live closer, I wouldn't mind lending an extra set of hands and opinion this weekend. It'd be a learning experience for myself with getting better knowledge on the LNF.

Good luck and keep us posted!

thought i would pull the cover off again and take some better pics.

heres the head overall. found out only 7 of 8 rockers flew off, the other exhaust rocker on cylinder 1 held on. seemed like it blew them off down the line after the valve dropped.

heres a better close up of the cam lobes. i scratched them with my fingernail and could not feel any of the scratches AT ALL. im going to have a friend look at it and will probably get it lightly sanded this weekend.

in this one i discovered the the lash adjuster seat is bent up and needs to be replaced, how much of a pain would that be?

there she is sitting in the driveway, brake rotors rusted and bird **** on the back window. yep its been a sad 6 weeks...

so good news and bad news, cams seem to be okay and wont need replacing but the lash adjuster seat will definitely need to be replaced. taking the head off in a couple days to see underneath!

You could reuse it. Chances of a hot spot happening there are greater and you never know if anything else is wrong with the piston.... If money is available, I'd replace them with some nice Weisco Pistons

Show a picture of the nick... It could be nothing to worry about. Again, you never know though.

The factory lnf piston has a cavity in it for oil cooling the piston head if you dented the top that price may be compromised and could crack causing compression loss and massive oil burn. I would buy new am pistons from zzp or ced may have something as well

That's not the lash adjuster seat in the picture, that's the other part of the lash adjuster, you just broke the tip off. Pull up on that piece and it will slide out of the head.
