Ok So i Threw a CEL the other afternoon, I have a Trifecta Tune Hahn intake, Muffler Delete. I was putting along in third, not doing anything crazy and i Pushed in the clutch and its seems as if it came on then. The Scanner Said it was a
"PO497, Low purge Flow, Evaporation emissions system"

All you Techs on here help me out, What does that mean?

Looking at the code chart its a broad range of things but the scanner said just that.

 

evap purge solenoid. just to make sure, check your gas cap, could be loose. Was this right after getting gas? You could have over-filled also.

Im using shell Nitogen Stuff, its the only thing around me with 93. I just moved 900 miles and used nothing but BP for the life of the car now im using shell, Ive read ethenol causes some issues?idk.

I think I make it click at least once when done

It came on like 4 days after my car being tuned by Vince - Trifecta

I never ever fill up unless im traveling, i put in like 15-20 at a time

Could it be the gas? I just cleared the code, does that mean the selenoid is still effd up?

 

you'll know if it comes back. If the gas is bad, you'll know immediately.

What does this thing actually do? the purge valve?..... sounds like a flux capacitor.

 

Purge valve is part of your EVAP system, it controls when to purge fuel vaper from your charol canister, back into your intake or vent to air.

 

Replace the purge solenoid,has nothin to do with gas cap
