Ok so my car is anoying me, i just changed o2 sensor not to long ago and the spark plugs to one step colder and gapped to .032, and still at idle my dashdaq reads misfire, not as much as before, but its starting to happen more often again. almost never throws a code, but sometimes does misfire in mutiple cylinders, when i clear the code, my car sputters and wants to stall out for about 5 seconds, then everything is ok, what the heck is wrong? anyone else have this happen???

 

Misfire on which cylinder? The most common way you'll see on this site to narrow down what it is is to figure out which cylinder is having the misfire, then swap coils with another cylinder and see if the misfire follows the pack. If it doesn't, you change the plug. If that doesn't work, you're probably in a world of hurt.

 

thats just it 99% of the time it doesnt throw a code on my car, if i didnt have dashdaq, i would never know about it. i do a scan codes and it comes up with nothing, but i have to clear codes for it to go away on my dashdaq, then i bogs and sputters then its fine. wtf is that?

so what just change the plug on the spark plug with another one and see what happens if its coming from one cylinder? what kinda hurt would i be in? im pretty sure it nothing, but its just anoying. i dont get any cel misfire unless i go on it on cold motor, other then that, just this phantom crap thats anoying me.

i think im gonna go back to stock plugs

ya i put my old stock plugs back in, ill see if it does misfire again, but the knock i was having is gone now, so i think ill get some new stock plugs and stick with that, car also seems to be running smother. hope i found the prob. man this car is like a woman, so fricken picky and moody with what u do to it.
