looks a little overkill to me, how much did it cost and did you get new piping to along with your massive inter-cooler?

 

They are going dyno both, but first dyno the car stock to get a baseline.

overkill no, There is no loss of psi/boost, cost was $700 since it's a R&D one-off, I got the Hahn IC piping kit $390, but I will upgrade to 3'' pipes - when I upgrade to a bigger turbo either a SPA or Garrett or Mitsu.

 

well thats how usually a bfmic looks lol, how big are the turbos in the ss?, i have a little snail on the srt4 and our aftermarket ic are huge mother ******* lol I think it looks good if you loose the mesh it would look badass

 

K04 - but there are aftermarket kits with GT 20/28/30 & 35, I know a few of the SRT4 guys out here - have huge IC and getting awesome hp/boost out of them..

 

U dyno this thing yet? pressure drop; cooling differences? release and pricing on the OEM style one?

no update. i guessing it didnt fit...or the numbers were terrible.....and the lag was alot. just a guess casue it been some time since a post lil over a month.....

yep yep a nice lil 5-15mph fender bender, and you have motor in your lap with a nice red hot turbo melting your nuts.......not the way i want to go.....

 

ok..maybe i'm not as smart as him but whats the thinking behind having a intercooler the size of a house...lag lag lag...then the other idea...hey lets remove the crash bar to make it fit......

i have seen it done by many tards before....all i can say on that note is every car i have seen it done on went from a front engine driven car to a mid engine driven car

i also like the part were the guy says that hahn is sweating over this cause it going to bee so big and take business away.......in the time of this thread being started, im sure hahn has sold thousands or better in fmic for the cobalts, while in the mean time this guys still tring to get it to fit.....

lol haha like... i just continue to get my nut roasteds from planters the peanut company.........lol with that fmic being that big there has to be about a 3-6sec of turbo leg

i wounder if a simi-truck fmic is even this big lol

i think he would need a bigger turbo than a k04 to not have the leg with that, he would probably need a gt3071r or gt3076r or bigger. let alone the car would have a hard enough time spooling that let alonge the leg of the intercooler

damn..... a supra with a t88h could barely make enough air to fill that thing LOL. one of my old civics had an ic half the size of that with a t66 and i still could spool faster than a balt with that on. i didnt even spool until 4500.
