Do you realize they "test" clutches without putting them in a car? They use a fixed torque gauge while a driving source rotates the clutch at the various speeds. Very simply procedure.
So besides that fact, why would GM send a clutch to some randon person to test?

Seriously, we knew there wasn't going to be stage kits before GM even released the car. Welcome to 1 year ago.
beats me. They talked to my mechanic who does drag racing test work for GM. Got to talking and they found out about my car. They hadn't tried the clutch on a cobalt before, only Saabs, and needed something well over 300whp to see if they could destroy it.
