As an update, I replaced my rears, and so far theyve been good. I got all my parts through the shop I used to work at. I got premium rotors and ceramic pads. Parts cost me like $150 total....gotta love wholesale prices through a shop! Heres the old stuff with the new stuff:

And... on a side note, Im getting the best MPG on avg that Ive ever gotten with this car!

Ive stopped letting it idle for such a long time in the mornings, and Ive been conscious about using very light throttle while cruising. Ive also been doing more highway driving than usual while Im in the fire academy. Typically I used to get and average of 21-22mpg.....26 is a sweet jump! lol

The new pads, like mine, look like they don't reach ALL the way to the center of the rotor...they're about 2mm shorter than stock. If you look at the pad material on the backing plates of old vs new you can see this. Do you have a very thin unswept ring around the center of the rotor hat? I do. mine were *Saab* ceramics.

I just replaced mine at 19k and mine were almost as bad as that. They just started to get into the backing plate on the one end, the other end still had like 1/8" of pad left hhhmmm..... Went with R1 premium blanks and Hawk HPS. Cost was like $200 to my door and no more grinding. Pushing the pistons back in was a pita tho

Yeah I was reading about pushing them back in on a how to thread.

Did you use the special tool or just wing it and do it by hand?

I knew it was back then as well....I think because you mentioned it. The thing was I was letting the dealership try to take care of it under warranty before I spent my own $$$
