top speed
Wow, what a thread. I raced professionally at the national level for the better part of a decade and had some success. There were times at local tracks, where the "street racer" wanted to show how they could compete, but almost always lacked an understanding of some basic fundamentals. I really encourage all of you to think about the reality of why we like speed. We like it because we can't predict what we may need to deal with in what is usually a fraction of a second. That fraction of a second is what always torments people after "the accident". Please, please come out to the track and we'll beat the weenies out of our cars togethor. At least we'll only kill ourselves. I'm sorry to have rained on your topic. Hopefully the newspaper will have one less artilcle to run?
