Just so you know to wheel bearings are covered under powertrain warranty, even though thats not what it is.

They would make noise if it was the input shaft or related bearings/gears. If its on the output shaft it will not make noise when stopped because it only spins when the wheels turn.

This is what it is. My first transmission started making this same noise at around 40k miles, it was the output shaft bearings. However they couldnt get the parts to fix it, so they put a reman transmission in. Which had 3rd gear shatter and punch a hole in the case less than 30 days and less than 1000k miles later and GM voided my warranty at this time.

Can't beat that. I had the dealer install my excedy hyper single when they had the first transmission out, they charged me $100 - I was glad to pay that, even though it took almost no time to install because it saved me a BUNCH of time to install.

2 1/2 weeks!? The 50$ clutch deal does not make up for the wait period.

$20 says it's the carrier bearing. I busted mine like a year and a half ago. 30k miles on it being bad and all it does is make noise.

I plan on pulling the tranny this summer, but it has never affected driveability.
