Thumbs down Tune Maybe? Knock!

So lately i have my interceptor setup to watch knock, And im seeing a good amount of it... It freaking me out, Im pretty sure when i first got it tuned I didnt have any..

So Wot I'll get 2.9 and it will stay up there until i get off. the other day i did a WOT pull in 4th around 4.5k and i got 4.0 Degrees of Knock.. Should i be worried? I have been riding around with the GMS1 tune for safety reason because that gets no knock.

Yes you should be worried, you need to get the tune looked at. Any knock is bad.

Blends of fuel vary depending on the time of the year, could be why you're seeing knock. When were you tuned? Mods?

does the nterceptor gauge need to be adjusted/dialed in to monitor knock correctly? some of the functions it shows do. just a thought before you jump to conclusions. but yes any real knock is bad

switched to a higher grade fuel and see if it goes away.

If you can't go higher grade maybe drop in a gallon of E85.

You shouldn't see knock under WOT. maybe at part throttle.

If it doesn't go away with higher octane then you need tune adjustment.

Were you getting it before, or all of a sudden? It could be the fuel. I'm getting some inconsistent KR at WOT on my LNF Trifecta tune...Usually 2.9* as well! I can do a pull from 60-120, not 1* of KR. Slow down let the IAT2's cool off, do a 4th gear pull @ 4000 rpm and get KR at 4500-5000. The tune is only commanding 13.5* up top so it's not very aggressive and I'm hoping it's just poor fuel.

I seem to get knock at WOT when its really hot outside. when its colder I get no knock. plus it jumps around. It could be false knock.

Try different gas and if it still knocks you'll have to send a log to Vince and he will pull out some timing. The tip in is somewhat normal, but I saw where the KR came in part way through the pull and that's real KR.

About Knock Retard (KR) | ZZP News
Read this^ It's most likely false knock because, from what I read, real knock would have made kr go up as rpm goes up. Never hurts to look into it though.
