Vararam Industries LNF Intake Update....
Talked to Patrick @ Vararam and things are starting to take shape. He is expecting tooling to come in this friday and is going to start mock-up and flow testing compared to the stock airbox. Have a couple members who have stepped up to aid in prototyping so lets thank them for that. Stay tuned as the process moves forward.
I'll probably say a month maybe a little longer and as far as pricing goes, Vararam is not on the cheap side.
I mean yeah a z06 is a total diff. car but the intakes for those are a lot so I'll say in the mid to high 3's

ugh I hate to say it but ya the cobalt crowd is generally cheap asses. But I have no issue paying 3xx for a intake that works properly. My ms3 parts were that expensive because they had tons of r&d in them. DI intakes and tuning is serious ****, its not as easy as it was for the standard efi. You need to pay to get it done right.

Id spend 350-400 if its built well, incudes nice clamps, and most importantly can be tuned for smoothly. Im itching for more spool noise
so true.... tube + cone filter = 90% of most intake technology. Its the DI related R&D that most companies dont have the patience with. too bad our performance division is a bunch of deadbeats.... they abandoned the intake tract for the Cobalt SS

The GMofHouston "Skunkworks" did a test a while back with a metal screen on an AEM intake, with very promising MAF skew results, so a diffuser would be a great addition to any new intake.
On a similar note, there may be a second revision AEM intake coming out with a diffuser added to it for the AEM fans out there. They finally figured out how important it was to their intake and the customers. A similar thing happened to the MS3. First revision was plain intake, second revision had the diffuser. They later sold a standalone diffuser that first revision owners could buy and add to their intakes.
If Vararam gets it right, they get my money.
