weirdness boosting

so im driving today, i turn on the trifecta select a tune, and give her some, goes up to 21 psi pretty fast, and tons of power in this -24 degree weather. No ice on the road so no worries, didnt go that fast. But anyway, after a while of playing i turned off the tune and gave her in 3rd on stock tune at about 60mph. usually i boost up to 15 right away, this time, it goes up to 10 fast, and takes its sweet time going the next 5, i was at about 4500 rpm by the time i hit 15 psi and got my power. so what gives? is it to ecu ajusting back to stock tune or the cold or what?? 2nd gear did the same thing.

Tune has no problems just stock, i will keep on stock for a while see what happens, but anyone else have this happen, anyone know what up?

my GUESS would be the sensitive stock tune with the learn down cuz its so cold the car didnt feel like it needed to put out full boost to reach the 260/260...

but it did go to full boost after awhile. and it didnt feel like it had the power it usually does until it reached full boost, although it did feel like it had alot of torque as the boost was climbing. maybe the powerband drops off as the rpm goes up with the 10 psi, so it slowly gives more psi as the rpm goes up? could that be it?

its the way the "stock" tune map is laid out. And yeah, if you have an RPD, it will not exceed 260/260 in that mode.

Cold weather tends to mean less boost is required to make the 260/260. I'm tuned even and I spike 25.5PSI and settle at 22PSI in the fall weather. Now I only spike 21 and hold 18 with the temps nearing single digits.

my car does the same thing on stock tune. the other day it was only hitting 7psi in 2nd gear and by the time i got to redline it went up to 15psi. my car feels so slow with the stock tune. either i'm not used to it or something really is messed up on my car(it misfires near redline on WOT).

well i know im used to the trifecta tune so stock feels so slow now. i only misfire, so i noticed when i nls on tune at to low rpm. i havent tried doing it at redline on tune yet. but ya i think its the cold, cause it does feel like its pulling the right amount. id love to see what the stock tune would do without learndown in this cold.

I actually think it's safe for it to learn down even with a tune. When you think about it, the much denser air combined with 22psi/ High compression ratio for a turbo car/ crappy winter gas ---> Makes a good recipee for detonation, so less boost = a little safer

But seriously, I'm not tuned and the performance in cold weather is, honestly, really crappy. Seems the MAF doesnt know what to do with all that air and shifts fuel trims 1000 times before getting to redline... Anyways, I'll get this Trifecta selectable Tune next spring to compensate!

Peace

Ill bet the cars overcompensating a bit for the learn down i wouldnt be suprised if at some point it stops understanding how dense that air really is and just over adjusts. mines doing the same thing not as much but its only just got super cold. -35 tonight lol.

ok its official, our cars do overcompensate in -15 and colder weather and ends up haveing less power. temps went up to -5c today and my car started boosting to 15 psi the way it was supposed to right away, and all the missing power was back. So i guess in really cold weather on stock tune, our cars get slower. lol

Our cars weren't really made for winter driving... Haven't had mine outta the garage for a month almost.
