I put whatever the hell the dealership puts in there... I actually need to make an appointment & take it up there for them to change the oil out! I hope they use Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic 5W-30 (or whatever our cars recommend).

Mobile super syn 0W-30 the high gas mileage type that meets or exceeds GM spec (4718M IIRC) for our cars. I am going to give the Castrol Edge oil a try next itme. In lab tests. It had 8X the wear resistance of Mobile one!!!

Yep. Walmart sells it 5 quarts for $24 or so. It meets or exceeds the GM spec for our 5W-30 not just any 0W-30 will work though. Thinner oil has less friction on cold startups and it will get slightly better gas mileage because of the reduced oil viscosity. Nothing major, but I like the cold start protection factor in the winter.

definitely. that ams oil is the SH*T. you should use the 0 weight. you can go 20,000 before changing, and they even send you a kit to take an oil sample.

everyone should check out Amsoil.com. Royal purple is good, Amsoil is BETTER.
it may cost around $70 for an oil change, but you don't have to do it as often

i use royal purple 5w-30, ive never heard of people using 0w-30 in our cars but i guess it would be helpful in cold weather since the oil is thinner
