It is not a very complicated install so I highly doubt you would need a GMPP dealer to do the work (Can any of the HHR guys with the upgrade verify this?)

As for Central NJ, there is a dealer (Superior Chevrolet) on Route 1 right next to Quaker Bridge Mall that I will be going to should the kit ever be released. Only a 10 minute drive for me....might be a bit longer for you.

And yes, I have already harrassed their parts department about the availability of the kit....they have no idea when it will be released.

My uncle worked in the former Performance Division, they've all been sent to other assignments so till they come back (which maybe a few years) no kit for the SS\TC.......Also not releasing it due to trouble with the kit itself on the HHR and GMs financial issues.....

It will NOT be out, if at all, before the end of 2009...... Besdies... this kit only makes the HHR\SS pwr go from 260hp stock to 290hp... HPT's will take you to 310 for half the price.... 20 more hp can make a big difference in mph in the quarter .

so if this guy is correct, (just saying 'if') the concencus i'm getting from most folks is that the trifecta tune is the best for the money. correct me if i'm wrong, but people are making 300whp with just the tune itself and no other mods?? and it's been found so far to be safe?? seems like not much cash for such huge gains, almost 2 good 2 b true..

i don't know a thing about hp tuners and how it works and how much $ it is. i hear also bout the pyschotune or something? then, the overpriced hahn tune? decisions, decisions

The tune is just a calibration that is flashed to the PCM/ECU. The quality of the tune depends on the person(s) adjusting the settings.

dont call bs. it makes sense. they have been putting it off and they did move almost all of the performance division to hybrids. they only have a handful of people workin in performance and thats for the camaro and the corvette. and once again hes right. for the same price or less you will get much more hp.
stock whp is about 245
with trifecta's tune, widow has about 305 whp
thats a hell of alot better than 290 hp

This kit is being released by GM Performance Parts not Performance Division.

It is coming out, according to the CARB there already is an 08 SS/TC upgrade ready.

GMPP is currently one of the few profitable divisions that GM has... so the kits release has nothing to do with the Performance division being shut down, as GMPP is its own identity

honestly I want the gmpp kit for the sensors I don't give two flips about their tune.

here the deal

gmpp = warranty with less power but awesome sensors $600

hpt = more power no warranty stock sensors. $250

I will spend the extra $350 for the sensors and my warranty.

^^^ I'm also in it for the sensors, but as I don't care about the flash like you, I don't give a flip about the warranty, its garbage as it is.
