Where is the GM stage kit?
You would have to pay the dealer either for the complete install about 2 hours at their going labor rate or install the kit you self and pay for the dealer to flash it about 30 to 45 minutes at their going labor rate.
NOTE: IF you install the kit and drive it to the dealer it will set the code P2227 baro sensor. The code will go away when the GMPP Tune is installed.

If I buy this now, are you going to offer a complete kit with the intake as a complete package for cheaper?
I guess I should hold off buying the stage kit until the tune is released. After all that 550 is earning interest in my bank account. Hmmm...

If he runs out and the tune comes out then what will you do?
If you install your own sensors, it may not be warrantied by GM then.
I have the same question JoeBMX. The SC stage kit that had both 1&2 was $150 cheaper than buying them separate.

I don't think they can void your warranty unless you do it wrong...if you do something wrong and it causes a failure, they are off the hook. If you do it just as well (probably better) than a tech at the dealership, there is no reason to void the warranty.
However, I have heard rumors that when it is installed and the tune is applied that they have to put in a service number to record that it was actually installed at the dealership...don't know if this is true or not...
Yes it is driveable but it will set the code and possible limit boost so don't drive too far or too long.
The only thing recorded by the dealer is that you car has the GMPP Tune or calibration. Nothing is recorded on whether the kit was dealer or customer installed.

Well pretty sure that the SC stage kit said it needed to be installed by a dealer or those parts were not covered under warranty. The MS3's Mazdaspeed parts were the same way.
They may say that...but the fact of the matter is that if you do it correctly, they cannot void your warranty for that...if you do it incorrectly, that is another story...

That's why I worded my response the way I did. So many people have said they were this or that. I apologize if I offended you in any way. Everybody is suspect behind a computer screen.
Great credentials. I haven't spent much time in the Lounge and none on the LSJ threads, this being my first Cobalt. Maybe this is why I have never see any of your posts.
First question. Since it was announced on GM Tunersource the part number for our upgrade is the same as all the others with the ECU calibration being the model specific part, if we were to purchase the hard parts kit should we expect to get the cal. at no charge when it is released? This question is a little after the fact as I just ordered the hard parts kit from CED and will be hanging by the thumbs till I get the cal.
Thanks for keeping us posted on current developments.

which bill came to the CED meet? Because I've meet one of them... believe him, he is for serious. It was so awesome 1 years ago at the CED meet when 3 of the GMPP guys came out, 2 engineers and 1 marketing guy.
I just talked to tom at maybe 3:30pm today about this. The word is the stage kits 1 and 2 will stay separate, so if you want both you have to buy them each at full cost, theres no combined one like the SC kit. Also when you order the stage 1 kit you get a Authentication number for the tune. It will not be usable until the tune is released but its in the kit so no worries. Once the tune is available by GM, you take your number from the kit, go to the GM dealer and they will flash it and install the sensors if needed.

Somebody on GM Tunersource mentioned a ECU program from Germany that is supposed to give you TONS of HP and torque. I wonder if that's the same German outfit that is rumored to be the company that developed the LNF upgrade program. I found the company on line but now can't remember their name. The LNF wasn't mentioned on their site. Just curious.
Gotcha! After you said that I engaged my brain. The tune comes direct from GM via the Tech 2 which needs the number from the package to validate the download. So if you have the hard parts all you need is the word from GM that it is available, call the dealer to install the kit, or do the hard parts yourself, and have the dealer install the calibration. Does that sound right?

Does the German company sound/look like irmscher? They did the new cruze bumble bee concept.
