Yea we're talking more from a general engine stand point, not specific to the turbo. I didn't even think about replacing the stock chain but that's a good point.

Hey Japeatr, what tool did you use for compressing the springs. I can't find it for the LNF engine, it's not the same as the LSJ correct?

The kent moore ecotec valve spring compressor - this tool is universal for all the ecotecs I believe but I don't recall the part number. Can find on ebay for $100-200.

The lnf specific part is the timing bracket which holds the cam gear in place thus keeping timing. Japeatr had the lsj bracket, but not the lnf. That's why he had to re set the timing after installation.

Need Japeatr or Powell to clarify, but pretty sure for the lnf you need the ecotec vvt bracket, unless you want to go through the hassle of timing everything. Can find on ebay for around $30 I believe.

I'm buying a motor that is already built, pistons, cyroed rods, sleeves and crank. I will be installing the cams and valvesprings along with fixing my issues with my 25g. The engine will come with LSJ tranny and the KY stage 4 clutch. I will have 3 different tunes, 91 and a e85 DD files(22-24 psi). And a special race file e85/110 mix 31 psi or so. I'm guessing fueling will be maxed out before this turbo is so yea. Sorry to thread jack.

It's all good man, I asked you lol could probably run a custom 5th inj with your race tune, but I'd wait and see how you'd do with the cams.

lsj is doing that with stock cams.

That's the plan for now. 5th injector will be one like Gmtech on the throttle body. I have to look at his thread again but yea.

Lsj isn't direct injection, so it's not limited with fuel. We need cams for the lobe to supply more fuel. Or you can do the 5th injector which is meh... lol

All his LNF was doing on stock cams and E47 on anything more than 22 lbs was getting injection window misfires Ran well up to that boost level, but aint nobody got time fo dat low boost! Brought it to ZZP when he was back home in Ohio and they put in the springs/retainers, cams, new charge piping, and fixed some boost leaks and put it on E85, so no more Bill Nye mixing at the pump with our non E10 91 octane and E85. Then they maxed out the fueling with the cams on his 5557 at 26 lbs. Runs great all the way up to 8k rpms, but he shifts at 7,400.

I figured you meant stock turbo lol. I wish I could get this local to get off his 26lb trifecta 91 tune and give E85 a try on HPT. But he is too stubborn. He says "I like map switching too much" No, you like the high boost setting, nobody likes the low boost setting lol
