I'm anxious to see how restictive the stock intake is on a modd'ed car. Fast06SS is still using the stock tubing, stock filter and stock airbox. Nonetheless, I can't wait to see the times ran at IDDVII by the LSJ's!!

Yes even though the throttle body doesnt add much hp...for 150 buck it isnt too bad for a lil extra air, it always helps with cold air coming in....got to face it...every lil bit of hp and tq helps

Yes I'll be there.

torque braces, control arm bushings and the same setup I dynoed with maybe have a TB on. Just installed a B&M yesterday. I'm ordering a spec stage 3 next week but I'm still debating about the flywheel. Is it really worth it? Also I dont have a wideband in that budget either.

Dan

If I can score a Tofu like 1.9xx outta the hole on stock tires It'll be in the low to mid 13s.

On the clutch, do a 2+ or 3+, don't do a 3. A 2+ gives you the same hold as a stage 3 but with a stage 2 clutch feel. I would definitely do a flywheel. These engines make power in the high rpms, and the flywheel helps it rev faster and get it up in the rpms quicker. However, I've got my heart set on that Corsa exhaust, so I really shouldn't be giving my competition advice.

Yeah I know...just stage 3 is 150 cheaper than stage 2+. Also the phantom edit got you.

I know saving money rocks, but the 2+ is a better clutch. Also, what is phantom edit?

It'll have a better feel and possibly even be easier to launch. In case I'm mistaken, the torque capacity is actually higher on the 2+? Also, I thought that the 2+ is designed to last longer? Maybe I'm wrong, I dunno. Ask Rob what he thinks.

Rob went with a 2+. In his thread he even said "anyone who doesn't go with a 2+ or 3+ only, deserves it to fail!!" Almost word for word.

on further review of my budget I may have to ditch the flywheel as a matter of money. Its either CA bushings and a torque brace or a flywheel. The previous will help prevent wheel hop and prevent axle damage. the latter will just lighten the driveline. Choices...grrrr

Well, I would agree that if it came down to those two, I'd get the bushings. You just need a clutch that can hold the power. You'll be more upset if you get to IDD and can't launch hard because of wheelhop.

Good Numbers Dan, Congrats!!!

I hear you on the flywheel.... I just got the clutch also and skipped out on the flywheel. I cancelled the fidanza flywheel because I can barely launch the car in 1st gear as it is... having it lighter will just amplify my 1st gear launching...the acceleration would be great, but not worth it now if I can't hook the car. Besides the company I ordered it from said it was a 1 week backorder... So I went with just the Spec Stage 3+ clutch.

Might as well forget about that. Hope for a 2.2 or 2.1 and see what your trap is like. Than again every track hooks different.

Crunching some numbers again. If I get a tube of poly and do my motor mounts, jbp ca bushings and maybe get a lil side job at autozone I can get stage 2+ w/ flywheel. I'm gonna see if I can get my dealer to do the gear rattle tsb on my car and when the tranny is out throw the new clutch in there
