3.5" Intake

Who would want one and would you just want the lower pipe to be 3.5" or the whole intake to be 3.5"? I will be mocking on up today and was just curious.

I'd be interested if the whole intake was 3.5", plug and play with the LS4 TB and TVS.

I would be.

Think it will fit through the hole in the frame without cutting it up?

My RD Fabs one fits pretty shifty.

It fits with about a 1/4" around the sides. For the best fitment I would most likely trim a little towards the front of the car to push the intake away from the tire. At the very least I would put some hose on the car to stop any vibrating of the intake.

A dyno of a 3" vs 3.5" intake.... that's what mrb was getting at.

This intake is only going to benefit TVS cars with extensive mods to the engine.... ie. a ported head, cams, additional power adders such as nitrous, etc.

A stock engine M62 or TVS car will see minimal if any gains from this.

i mean if Josh is going to produce one, why not put the time and effort into it ?

sooo we should all just buy one cuz its bigger ?

where is the logic ?

he asked about interest, i gave my interest and reasoning .....

would you buy a tvs if you had no idea if it was going to be better than an m62 ? or would you want harrop to show you it was better before your said ohh yea ill take one ???

How many products do you see for our cars with before and after results that a manufacturer does? Veeeeery few.

Same here. I'd test one, however I don't really have the mods to make it worth it right now.

I think a few guys are missing the point of this. Not only will it make more power on a high end build, it is basically going to be required with where we are going. 375whp on e85 is more than enough power to overrun the maf table. Only way to get back on it is to go to a bigger tube for the MAF sensor.

Advise is a good friend of mine, he is in this area and he may be interested in testing this out for ya.

More then happy I can do u one better i have zzp 3" cia, inner cia, k&n typhoon cia, aem, stock. All sitting on the shelf at home.

Wouldn't take much to swap them all out at the dyno. Just show up with no fender liner. I can do it on my 2.4 and 100%meth(steve) can do it on his 2.0

Proly dial in ur 3.5 on the street first since it takes so much manipulation of the maf table.

Wish I was local to you I'd let you have the car for a bit to play around with. Where would you locate the MAF sensor on the Tube? I am skittish since my Injen caused idle bounce do to poor location of the MAF mount, at least that's what I believe seeing's how going back to my stock air box, and doing an air box mod corrected the idle. I believe, correct me if I am wrong, ZZP said the MAF was seeing to much turbulence within the tube rather then a nice flow threw the tube..? Just curious is all, o and I don't have a TVS so I clearly wouldn't be a good test subject unfortunately.. Anyone close by should jump on this.
