oh yea now they are running 11.3's on stock internals. Over 450rwhp at the moment. and uhh how much is that turbo kit...oh yea its 4800 bucks. http://powerhouse411.com/catalog/ind...products_id=51

so lets see..my v6 with every option possible cost me 21,900 plus the 4800....26,700 and hmm lets throw in another 300 for a real nice dyno tune and you have yourself a 550hp v6 mustang on stock internals. I'm sure some of you are understanding that my past, what...six posts have been apologizing for possibly offending you, but some of you obviously have to compensate for something.

To answer your question about the v6 drag cars some more, that is because of the v6 competition. Some of the strongest engines ever made are v6's, the dett's from the skylines and 2jz's from the supras come to mind, so it would cost alot more to make a v6 mustang as capable. I admit that and i cant see why you cant admit that it would cost more and be harder to make a 10 second fwd 4 cylinder car.

And once again the ONLY reason i made the statement about a fwd car getting into tens will be harder, is because the initial post was asking how he could make his cobalt as fast as his camaro and somebody else then mentioned getting into 10's so i was just trying to state the FACT that it will be more expensive and harder to do, i see that the way i put it may have been offensive, and it was not meant to be, that is why i repeatedly tried to apologize.
A high 11 v6 is not too impresive. Whatever you like though.

do the original poster, do a search you'll find many other threads with far more useful info.

today must be a bad day or something cause this whole thread is a bunch of horse ****.

take a look at my SIG, I should be pretty close to if not past 300WHP by mid Aug.

I'd definitely recommend replacing the pistons, when going over 300WHP for a daily driver.
besides the higher compression piston will also help a lot with those gains, try the diamond 10:1 pistons. good luck

It will likely cost more. it is great that the engine can handle according to the aftermarket company, but what does ford think of this? the 450HP was reached with race gas. they talk about stock block and clutch but what about all the options like dual fuel pump and such. sorry but I doubt just spending 4800 will do it. that will give you a minimum of 285hp which is quite good. more research and questioning is needed to make a sound decision and budget. drag radials were likely used. race gas alone is quite the expense everytime you go out.

I have to say it is quite interesting but that $4800 can quite easily become almost $10000 to reach 11.3 to get all the options they list and proper set up. No way can you drop $4800 and the turbo in and good tune to get to 11.3. the power has to get to the ground too.

thanks for the info. Unlike others on here who post wildly I respect any car that can go fast. it does not matter what you used to get there fast, but rather how quickly you did get there. that is why it is okay to try with a V8 V6 or a 2.0L 4 cyl. that happens to have a SUPERCHARGER on it.

you have to keep in mind. with dropping a $2000 on the car for a pulley, 60 lbs inj., HPTUner software, intake and exhaust the car will go high 12's. Curious to know if you can do that with a mustang v-6? (this question was asked out of respect, and curiosity - not flaming).

well with about 3500 you can get an x-charger from explorer express for the v6 mustang which is a roots type blower much like the one on your car. It comes with tune, injectors, all hardware etc. so just the kit is fine to run stock for a very long time. With street tires in an auto they have been running mid 13's if i am not mistaken, which is low 13's high 12's in a manual. I do understand that it's not just a turbo kit involved in making it an 11 second car, my point was just that there are v6 drag cars that will keep up with a great deal of privately owned drag cars. Thanks for not being an ******* like some people though.

check the build book... 400hp is EASILY harnessed by a STOCK Ecotec motor with bigger pulley/injectors and whatnot... Pistons reccomended, rods/crank good to 500hp, block... even more...

I'm talking about daily driven cars that can go fast as well not 600 hp hot rods by the way which i would like to own those are weekend toys to people who have enough money to modify two race cars i am paying for college as well so i would say to pay for college have a mid 13 second mpg+ 4 banger i am doing pretty damn well.

Why all the insults??? Just because I am proving you wrong????

I coud care less how many people have the same stuff as Rob, I only care about how many people have ran the same times as Rob. Right now that number is less than 5.

Now on to the build book, obviously you do not have it. The LSJ (2.0l SS/SC motor) can not handle 1400hp, not even the block can handle 1400hp, that is according to "the book" Do some more research before you start insulting people.

Who cares what cars you have??? Does that make you more knowledgable on Cobalts?

And if you could read I said,

The only part the 1400hp motors uses from the LSJs is the valve cover. Damn i stand corrected. I guess you can build a 1400hp motor using your LSJ, from the valve cover up.

AWESOME!

Show me all the parts used on the 1400hp motors that come from an LSJ.
