SO, thats only the first step pansy. I pulled it, rebuilt completely by myself, reinstalled tranny and motor with no help whatsoever, twice cause I forgot the trannsmission spacer between the block and the tranny.
Just playin' you are bout to embark on one of the most fun and worrisome experiences of your life. Yours may not be as stressful if you arent married with kids, my family life suffered because of the many hours in the garage. I am lucky to have a supportive wife but still felt guilty because of all the time it was taking.
Anyway go with Genuine AC delco/GM stuff and do the timing components fresh, with a break like that your timing components stand the chance of bending, stretching, etc. I got away with just bolts and a tensioner in the timing area because my popped motor was just a sleeve. With something that catastrophic do everything new. Man I am excited for you.

Cloyes 9-4201S Multi-Piece Timing Kit : Amazon.com : Automotive
Thoughts on this? I'm thinking of getting this and just go to the hardware store and get new guide bolts like c130 did

Get seals for both sides of the crank, CED shipped me the wrong part but overnighted my main seal because they are awesome. Also take note of how the seal is in the block, if you put it in backwards, under boost the car will pee oil between the engine and transmission. Ask me how I know this.
OK, onto your PM. ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE. I used 3 inch bolts and the threads I am not sure about, I just took a tranny bolt to lowes and bought the bolts and nuts for that size. Notice below that you will need two nuts for the other holes on the block that are not threaded. They were (2)3 and (2)4 inch bolts of the same thread size. But only buy two nuts.
Heres the pics you asked for.

hey i just took a look at the bolts I bought for the stand, two are 3", and two are 4", they are all the same threads but the longer bolts you see in the 6th picture down (exposed crank pic) is the 4" bolt with the nuts on there. Also pick up 4 washers for the engine stand so teh bolts sit level in the stand mounts. Some engine stands are different so make sure you measure the engine stand hole depth for the mounts so you have plenty of bolt to work with. But I think you will be fine with 2-3", and 2-4" bolts.

i would put my gen 1 open deck block with the cromoly sleeves (pm mrbelvedere if anyone wants a set) against any stock gen 3 block. Hondas have a similar open deck design and they are making power to 600 on them all day. Look at the top of my sleeves in the pics, its a couple thousand thicker than a stock bore due to the loose fitting size of diamond pistons. My sleeves were bored to the piston, not the piston sized to the bore. Getting the pistons with rings installed into the cylinders was freaking TIGHT. So my tolerances and high compression test show that they are a perfect match.
