i have an 06 ss/sc and my alternator just went out.. advanced autoparts said it was $300 for a damn alternator.... anyone know if this is right??? anyone know where i could get it cheaper ???? and from looking at it i need to take off the supercharger hub and it looks like alot if ****... anyone know how much labor its gonna cost me ... its about $80 an hour... thanks for the help!!

Alternator is an easy fix. You pull off the supercharger (4 bolts), then the alternator (3 bolts plus electrical cables), then reverse the process. Anyone with a set of wrenches, sockets, and a ratchet can do it.

But I've got no clue on the price, $300 seems way high, but that's what GMpartsdirect wants for one, too...

 

Thanks 4 the help man... 300 seemed high 2 me also... last time i changed one out on my truck it was like $80... i am going to fix it myself tho...i didnt know if taking off the supercharger was gonna b a bitch or not.

alternator on the lsj is 1.7 mfg warranty......1.9 standard price, check the estimate to see what they do labor at. DONT PAY MORE THAN 2.0 LABOR HOURS
