"

Top Ecotec racers like Nelson Hoyos and Marty Ladwig rely on ATI Super Dampers for superior performance and reliability race after race. In May of 2005, Marty Ladwig's ATI equipped Chevy Cobalt became the first 4-cylinder FWD drag car to break 200 MPH in the 1/4 mile with a blistering 202.02 MPH run."

Just use the stock one. The ATI is a great piece but isn't really necessary for your build.

i run a 2.6 on mine no problems but be when it comes time to install it make sure ur on the ribs furthest in otherwise ull have tension pulling the belt and ull rip it..also i suggest getting an oversized tensioner pulley from zzp and using a stock length belt

It will make the blower pulley 1 size smaller.. So If you have the ati & a 3.0 pulley.. It'll spin the blower just as if you had the 2.9 pulley on it. So it's much safer on the blower also

no its not a tensioner a crank dampner absorbs the harmonics from the rotating assembly the stock dampner dosent do much past 6500 rpm

any eco spinning past 6500 rpm could utilize an ati

if you are running a phenolic intake spacer you dont need an oversized tensioner

negative i hav a 2.6 and the spacer on mine and my stock tensioner was not holding at all..it gave me sum nasty belt slip...ran the zzp oversized tensioner and the belt is tight and holds just fine

if he runs a larger pulley lik a 3.0 he may be ok but if u drop to a 2.8 or below ull want the oversized tensioner to be safe and nething below a 2.8 ull need it or ull hav belt slip...personal experience

i shredded my belt when i had the 2.6 on with the stock tensioner cuz it was loose enough that at wot when i shifted the belt shifted over a rib and caused it to rip and i was hittin mayb 15psi at most and then losing it down to bout 5psi...oversized tensioner solved that right away..but mayb he wont even drop down that far so who knows

so the ati is lightweight, and when you put that on as the balancer , it makes whatever size blower pulley you have on, the next size smaller.

so it would make my 3.0 a 2.9 ?

I have the Fluidampr crank pulley and I am not disappointed. The engine feels like a cadillac 4-banger vs. a rattle trap. I have been to the drag strip with the stock pulley and the fluidampr and it was night and day difference. Engine doesn't feel like it will blow apart now. Granted it is not as smooth as a v6 or v8.
