No....the ball socket is the "flex joint"

yes you need a flex section the ball socket will start leaking without one

Really?

Ive had 3 pacesetters and never used a flex joint and alot of the pacesetters have a downpipe included and never a leak.

Maybe it is because its been on cavs, and I have poly motor and trans bushings.
