I still don't understand why so many people are having trouble relieving the tension on their belts. Use at least a 12 inch handle, insert the torx bit into the tension pulley with the handle at the 10 o'clock position, and push down on it towards the rear of the car. It takes 2 seconds and about 15 lbs of force. Something tells me people are grabbing a 6 inch long WRENCH, and trying to get leverage with that. Removing the supercharger to remove the belt is absurd. Its not that bad.

Huh? If you use the T-50 torx bit and push to the back of the car, that will remove said bolt. It is not a tension/pivot point.

Maybe post up a picture.

In the LSJ build book they tell you to use a 15mm flank drive wrench for the tensioner.

Some hammer on a 14mm open ended wrench.

There is also a tensioner tool for our car. I have it in my favorites on my home computer, and can post the link after work.

I have always used a small pry bar for my pulley swaps, and have never had an issue. I'm not a fan of loosening the bolts and tipping the supercharger out method.

Here's the link to the tensioner tool:

I just push down very slowly. If it does break loose while you are pushing down, go ahead and give it a good tightening. It should be tight enough that it doesn't do that, to be honest.

It could be, it was on there when I bought the car. Everything else was stock when I picked it up.

For real!? Do they still offer it? I'd like to look at theirs to see how to adjust it. I can make my belt stop squeaking by pushing down on it while its running, so if I could lighten it a bit I bet that would get it to stop.

Edit... don't think it is adjustable judging by ZZP's pics of it. I'll have to go out there and put my eyes on it to tell for sure, but I don't think its a ZZP piece.

Now that i look at it .... it looks like the stock tensioner w/o the plastic cover/lid covering the torx bit. It's tough to really tell due to the video being a little dark.

I was just about to say, damn mine doesn't look like that..

Like Staged said, it looks like the ZZP piece, or the stock one without the cover.

haha you mean 'boost' amounting to cylinder pressure? you honestly think that will make a difference? In the cold you have more boost, but I for one am not doing pulls in the winter...
You guys can go ahead and go through the trouble to swap pulleys.

I had a 12 inch prybar that I used to push down the tensioner on my LSJ, that was the best way I found for doing it.
