Best clutch for me?
Spec 2+ or Spec 3+
What is the real difference between the two clutches? Will 3+ take more of a beating? Thanks....need a new one ASAP, and since this is the second stocker in 70k miles I am not going that route again.
yep, besides the fact that everyone disregards. even though these engines are technically internally balanced, they are also balanced by the crank pulley and flywheel. few people realize this
best thing to do if you are going to put a lightened flywheel on, is to have the crank/pulley/flywheel balanced together. But not a lot of people are at the point of pulling the crank out. lol.

i ran a lightened flywheel on a ecotec since 2003, no issues, people say the same dumb **** about crank pulleys too, btw that car has 140,000 miles on it now and still running great
until i see a line of documented failures on here proving me wrong, I have nothing but positive personal results to go on

unfortunately, no. they just stuck me up in dahlgren, where I'll be an instructor for three years. I'm thinking about moving to catch another ship out there when I transfer in three years though. And I do have plans to make a road trip out there in september.

slowest TVS cars based on what? I dont go to the track
Besides I see alot of dynos less than mine being posted all the time. Furthermore isn't the 1100 dollar exedy the very one that the "oracle" Time Attack Cobalt used? That does have a lighter flywheel with it.
Also as mentioned im looking at clutch options that work with an aftermarket flywheel, not opinions on the flywheel
Where are all the posts on here about engine failures specifically from flywheels, link me, because in the 4 years or whatever I've been reading this forum I haven't saw a single post about it

The exedy hyper single clutch assembly weighs 4 pounds less then the factory clutch, I weighed it. It loses some weight due to the lighter clutch disc. I wouldn't say this is much of a lightened unit considering the fidanza flywheel claims to be 10.5 lbs lighter then stock.
^^^truth there cuz im getting screwed from the person that owned the car before me! they but a CM stage 2 in and didn't up grade the slave cylinder or the TOB and now im $1500 into fixing everything in my tranny!
I've got an Exedy Hypersingle for sale... $550 shipped.
Buy it before Wednesday, and I'll knock $50 off the price.

Guess what? I just decided to swap the Spec stage 3+ clutch and Spec flywheel for the GMP clutch upgrade kit and OE flywheel. I think I'm going to sell my Spec kit. Should be available Friday. Only has 20,000 miles on it.
I am using the gm upgrade clutch on a "roughly" 350whp tvs cobalt currently and it's holding well. i have also driven almost 50k miles on this clutch and it still feels brand new. It drives like stock but yet holds the abuse of everything I can give it. I HIGHLY recommend using it.
Also, if you have e85 in your area you should give it a try, you will be able to get well over the 300 mark with it.
