Beware...zzp=cheap Stuff

I just bought the zzp header dp combo and had it proffesionaly installed first off it sounds like **** witch i very dissopointed in but the main concern is im driving home the next day and i hear a loud ass noise pull over and sure enough the bolts from header to dp broke in HALF so im running on just header. the shops closed so i have to go out buy jackstands i get under the car and one bolt is completly gone an the other one is broke in half!! the washer is still there i get to looking at the hardware and the damn washer is ALUMINUM an about as thick as a pop can i take it off and brake it in half wit my fingers the bolts were cheap cheap bolts which arent even made to be used for that application,and my gasket was all tore up so i contact zzp and the guy basically calls me a lier then he tells me that at one point " we did use cheap bolts like 6 months ago " and he wont give me another gasket. so i had to spend more money for jackstands actually good bolts and now i gotta find a place where i can get a gasket that will fit. i was gonna order my exhaust from them but forget that thell never get another dime from me agian so to all u looking to buy from

it's been pretty well known for a while now that when you get the zzp combo, you have to buy better bolts. it's not the quality of the header/dp itself, it's the bolts. i went to lowe's, spent like 10 dollars and upgraded all the bolts throughout the exhaust.

I can only blame you for this one...
If you had bothered to search this site for "zzp" you would have found countless posts stating that you should switch your bolts for grade 8's.
And secondly... I have a similar header... it does not sound 'like ****'. Get a better catback, then we'll talk.

that seems to be a very common problem with there midlength header/dp combo. My brother had the same problem happen to him. I got the shorty header and there dp and got my own bolts from the hardware store and never had a issue yet other then taking my dp off repeatedly so my gasket doesnt seal the best when its cold

strange. my zzp header/dp combo is one of the best mods ive bought.
there is a noticable increase in power. and ive even seen my cylinder airmass take a noticable jump.

It sounds great, and the bolts that came with my kit have held up great so far, including multiple reinstalls as i had a cutout welded to the downpipe.

I think the idea was he was telling peeps that bolts are crap. Which honestly, if they are crap shame on them for including them in a "complete kit".

Calm down there sunshine, sounds like your "professional install" overtightened the bolt. I would be contacting the installer b/c accusing ZZP

what made me lol was that he tells us to beware, when zzp has been a positive supporting vendor here for a pretty long time

I installed my brother header/dp combo for him... and i didnt over tq his and they snapped... guess it is possible to have a bad batch of bolts but a lot of people complain about it so im guessing its either the 2bolt design with stock engine mounts causing to much movement causing them to break

no one is seeing the obvious here...

first of all, ZZP addressed the bolt issue, they send out the better bolts with all header/dp combo's now. they spoke of it when the group buy was going on, but I'm sure anyone who contacts them will find the same information.

second of all... notice that everyone who installed it themselves had no problems? it couldn't be that the shop messed up could it? It wouldn't surprise me to see that they used the wrong bolts, lost the original ones, or just plain "didn't think they were necesarry" I'd check with them before you go making enemies with a company who has provided many people with a wonderful product..
