Rev it to 7400. Unless you have a lot of miles on the stock valve springs.

Not cutting out anymore, but right when i give it gas on a down shift, i hear a bunch of popping sounds like im blowing out the plugs

Ill try gapping my -1 step plugs to .025 and see if it improves

What kind of plugs are you using? .025 is too small IMO. .030 with NGK BKR7EIX's hit the spot for my car but YMMV.

Copper? Those plugs are garbage and wear out in our cars after like 5,000 miles. Gotta use the Iridiums

I use the copper BKR7e's and change them every 3-5k typically.

Gapped at .032. Small amount added to the dwell tables. Never really had blowout issues in boost though.

What is a small amount? And did you add to the whole table?

I'd have to look again, but IIRC it was very minimal and yes to the whole table. Where are you getting the blowout? Up top at WOT?

Meh, that's debatable....

Every LSJ seems to react differently to copper & iridium plugs.

My car hated the coppers. In fact, I just tossed my BKR7E's and reinstalled my laser iridiums. Car runs much better now.

considering they came factory with copper plugs id say your problem is within the gap I have had to run mine down to .028 to keep the blowout away

Mine came from the factory with iridiums. I'm actually running my factory plug currently.

My gap is at 0.031". Runs great. No blow out even on a 32*F day @ 7.5k rpm

I wasn't getting much blowout with the coppers though, the car just didnt seem as smooth as it did with the stockers.

\I am with you Staged. I run the EIX suffix in the 7's at the gap they come with and the car is awesome and the plugs last for ever.

but then I dont have that much power.

if that's the case they may change the dwell but I have yet to see a lsj come factory with iridium

i had to run mine at .022 gap to get it to run to 8k with modded dwell settings.

do NOT change the entire table. you will fry the coil packs.

.025 is not too small of a gap
