You do know all we need to do is upgrade to forged pistons and drop the CR (our biggest issue at almost 11 to 1) and our 2.4 is every bit as good as the 2.0 is. Both have forged cranks and the 2.4 uses cast rods instead of forged ones, but cast rods can handle damn near what forged ones can AND they are lighter.

So a piston swap to drop the CR and then we can stuff as much boost in the 2.4 as you can on the 2.0 BUT due to the larger displacment it will make more power.

Its the same as trying to say a 305 is better then a 350.

your missing the point, if i wanted to do that i would but i dont.. like i said... stock vs stock.. 2.0 > 2.4.. deal with it.. we have seen stock 2.0 blocks go over 3xx without internal swaps.. i dont see a 2.4 cracking 250...

So the 2.4 ecotec in the hahn solstice running 380whp doesnt count?

Factory 2.4L Engine - 177 HP (at crank) - 150 HP (at rear wheels)
Hahn Racecraft Stage 2 - 284 HP (at crank) - 242 HP (at rear wheels) with 8 lbs. boost
Hahn Racecraft Stage 3 - 354 HP (at crank) - 301 HP (at rear wheels) with 13 lbs.boost
Hahn Racecraft Stage 4 - 447 HP (at crank) - 380 HP (at rear wheels) with 21 lbs.boost

And this is all on stock internals.

I think the 2.4 is a better engine...

ok when did this turn into a thread on 2.0 vs 2.4. boosted is boosted guys and the 2.4 if tuned properly will make more power than the 2.0, but the 2.0 will rev higher, and be better balanced at higher rpms due to the equal stroke to bore ratio (86mmx86mm) and anyway, both motors are better than the 2.2 (j/k there guys lol). 2.4 is a well built motor, as is the 2.0, but with rods the 2.0's are definitely stronger, and soon I'll be working on finding the limits of all the stock parts. Ehh I can't even think straight while at work, sory if my post seems rambling but I just answered about 15 calls in the time I was trying to type this.. well anyway, more updates will follow. and quit the arguing about motors.
(p.s. never ever compare a 305 to a 350 thats just wrong)

edit: as for price, we were talking about it and the base kit (like mine) should be in the $2500 range or so

correct when i talked to hahn about a 2.4 kit for the ion he said the 2.4s are built very well and they had a 2.4 solstice running 408 WHP on stock internals...

damn acid your ignorant.. the engine in the sky/ solstice is the LE5 engine.. the engine in the 2.4 balt/ion is... wait for it .. a LE5 engine... face it... the 2.4 boosted is very efficient.. talk to hahn who's put out their 240WHP base 2.4 turbo kit.. and they have a 20G stage 2 upgrade... thats definately over 250 WHP... man you're dense.

nice upgrade man.. i would love to see that sometime and feel how it pulls

Can we just drop the 2.0 vs 2.4 argument and stick to the 2.0L Turbo info.
It pollutes the thread....

Go start a 2.4L thread if you wanna talk about that engine.

This is a post about a turbo'd LSJ.

Exactly , this "kit racing " should be saved for a different thread.

maybe once it's done. lol.

as for the kit:
T-3 super 60 turbo, IC piping, Intercooler (28x8x3 I think) Turbo manifold, external wastegate, wastegate dump tube, BOV (turbo XS) 4 ply couplers, t-bolt clamps, and I think that's it.
oh yeah just for fun I was doing some full pulls on the way to work this morning it was 84 degrees out, at the top of 3rd gear my IAT2's were in the mid 70's. can't beat that. If I can get the damn internet working on my laptop I'll post some scanner snapshots.
