First of all, the ZZP "Stage 2" belt is not a genuine GM belt - it is slightly under sized and is of extremely poor quality! My belt was had CHUNKS missing out of it after only 5000 miles and it was cracked everywhere.

I replaced it with a real GM Stage 2 belt from CrateEngineDepot and it has been perfect ever since. Went on easily too, because it's the correct length!

Good luck.
No ****? mine did the same thing. I e-mailed them about it today. Explains it.

I asked if it was a brand new belt because it didn't come in any packaging. They said it was indeed new. Makes sense it didnt come in packaging now.

thats what i did, used the end of a tire iron to push the tensioner down when i switched to the tvs and then back to the m62 with a 3" pulley.

yeah seriously i got it on tuesday after trying the suggested 15 mm open end wrench, pry bar, and having a fat kid stand on it haha but no really the hammer and the 9/16 works beautifully.

The best part is my gm tech buddy and toyota tech buddy tried many times but failed, then I decided to give it one more shot since the weather FINALLY cleared up [its snowing here in NY] and I used the 9/16 to get the tensioner down and she slipped the belt on. Needless to say its nice to have a lady around even where you least expect one to be handy, **** she sure proved us all wrong even though i did all the "hard" work.

I saw a video of some guy using a torx 50 bit to get the tensioner to release. The 9/16 technique is starting to round the little notch off and all the other ways are destroying my pulley and belt. Anyone else use the torx bit technique?
