Cheapo CAI bad?

I currently have just a airbox mod done with a K&N filter, but looking to maybe upgrade with some bigger tubing. Ebay has some dirt cheap CAI, but alot of no name brands. I'm sure Injen, K&N, BBK, the big brands are nice, but they are a bit expensive. If i were to buy a cheapo one for like 60-70 bucks, and put my K&N air filter on it. WOuld it be worth the upgrade? I mean all it is a bigger pipe for more air to move through, is there really that much design difference from one another?

all I have to say here is that if I were to drive a $20k car, I wouldn't risk sticking a $50 ebay intake on there.

you get what you pay for.

I had an injen (aluminum) and now have the rebel autoworx (stainless). The injen got a hole rubbed in it and only lasted about a year. So if you are getting an intake I would recommend stainless for durability. The only thing I dont like about the Rebel one is that it is two pieces. OTT is supposed to be coming out with one pretty soon. Here is another one that I would consider and it is one piece:

DONT BUY ONE OFF EBAY!

THEY ARE CHEAP FOR A REASON!

Its just aluminum and a filter with 1 joint. Buy the ebay one. Buy a K&N filter to go with it and some T-Bolt clamps.

flame me all you want but i have had my ebay intake for almost a year now. no rubbing take it from someone who actually has one, it works fine and thats the reason i didnt do the airbox mod cuz i wanted to leave that alone if i ever went stock but i didnt have 300 for an intake. It would be cool to have a 3 inch stainless and ill prolly get one from ott when they come out with theres.. but for no im good with my cheapo

my friend bought his intake off of ebay and it doesnt fits so good, when it is installed the elbow connecting the intake to the tb bends in the middle pretty bad. i have a injen and fits perfect, they also come with a rubber liner now so that they wont rub up on the car and cause a hole.
