check engine.

my check engine light comes on for no reason. i took it to advanced to get it hooked up and they could not find anything wrong with it. it comes on for a day or two then it turns off. could i take it to a chevy dealer and get them to do like a retune or something of that sort?

You need to take it to Autozone or wherever as soon as it comes on. They should be able to read it. Might show up as a recent code as well.

if you go to a shop with a better scanner then what autozone uses they will be able to see what it was

You should wait untill the code is there before bringing it to advanced auto. Also fyi the dealer will most likely cost you like 90$ just to look at it so make sure its on before you go there as well.

probably a lean code from your intake, nothing to worry about...just check and make sure you have no leaks.

Generally when a check engine light turns on your car is throwing a code. I could be wrong though.

was the light on when you checked at Autozone. I can't imagine it didn't pick up a code when the light was on.

could be misfiring if it goes away relatively quickly and comes back randomly
