when you take off in a higher gear, the clutch will slip. when your driving down the road and you give it gas and the rpm's go up alot more than they should without the mph going up too.
a weak pressure plate will do stuff like, when you take off hard, it will look like a slipping clutch, but then it grabs hard once it slows down. it is also the culprit when you get to the point where there's no play in the clutch, it's either on or off (during normal driving). if you've ever driven a race car with a strong clutch in it, the engagement feels about the same, except you don't hear the scraping sound when the clutch engages.

Im going to take my car to the stealership about it. My clutch feels like it engages in like the first cm.. its getting pretty hard to drive the car smoothly now because there is no feel to the clutch. I bought the car on 02/24/06 as a demo and it had 5000kms on it. It now has 6500. Didnt realize this about the clutch until now as I thought it was just what the clutch is supposed to be like. Clearly its not. Its not even fun to drive anymore. I dont drive hard for the most part, never ground a gear or anything and im very good with a clutch. Drove my alero for 4 years and the clutch was like day 1 when I turned it in. Think the stealership will cover it for me??

Stock clutch is working fine for me at almost 17k miles. I drive normally most of the time, but I do have the tendancy to beat the car at least a couple times a week. I do plan on getting a SPEC stage 2 when I get the GM stage kit.
