It's been in the single digits ambient and negative winchchill here for the past week though, so I'm not messing with the car at all. It's just too cold. Hey I just ordered an LS4 TB myself and it should be here today or tomorrow. Only diffrence is I paid $57 shipped which is still a good deal. I was wondering if after you take off your SC if you could take a pic of before and after you Port and Polish it. It will be awhile before I put mine on. Its a little to cold right now. I planned on buying Meth kit, HPtuners, Header/DP, LSD, S/T throw shifter and 60lb injectors first. Hopefully by summer...

yea, I plan to take pics. I'm a picture ***** anyways. LOL. everyone says I document everything. 57 shipped is a great deal. I got lucky to find the one I did for 55 shipped. I couldn't fine one below like 80 for a while and then I came across one on ebay for 60, but then the member on here decided to lower his price to 55 and so I bought it and saved another 5 bucks. I don't plan on taking my supercharger off for porting and all that until after christmas. It's too damn cold right now and my funds are kid of low. But probably in january, I'll park the car in a friend's garage for a weekend or something and I'll get started on the supercharger. I got to have an intake made as well so.....that's like 100 bucks.

Yeah well my love for driving my Cobalt for awhile was crushed as of last night. I cant drive for at least 6 months maybe more because I had another seizure last night and was rushed to the emergency room. My car looks like yours only I have black projector headlights and I custom painted my wheels black and left the insides and lips chrome. Oh and blacked out tails, 3rd BL, and sidemarkers. So when it warms up a little I'll have my car all torn apart to do diffrent mods and such. I cant stand not being able to drive....

Sorry to hear that you can't currently drive. However if you think about the damage that you could cause to yourself and others it's currently a good idea until you get your meds fixed. Have you tried any anti sesiure medications? Once you get on some good meds, and you are seizure free for 3+ months hopefully you will be able to drive again. I know many a people who have been through things like this, it really is for the better that you can't currently drive. I wish you the best though in getting well, and being able to drive again.

Also, just kind of wanted to bump this and bring it back to the top because everyone needs to read it lol. I love the way ralliartist is modding his car, and I think many others do as well. So a free bump to him, and a good luck to you cruzinyellow .

Thanks Zach!! Yeah I was on meds but apparently not at the right level yet. We'll get it figured out before too long. And I to would like to continue to see this thread bumped to the top. I think Ralli has done a great job of keeping this thread very informative and backed up through various testing. I will continue to check back and give him a free bump!

We had some good weather yesterday, so I pulled the front end apart and pulled the radiator out. I made a tread about it in the pics/vids section. But, while the car is down and I'm waiting on the new radiator, I went ahead and pulled the supercharger off and decided to port it to match my ls4 throttle body that I have just laying around. I don't think I'm going to be able to get before and after dyno pulls of the ported s/c, LS4 TB, and 3" intake. But I'll definitely have a before and after dyno pulls from the last time that I ran a 13.6@100.

this **** takes a long ******* time with a dremel. I think I'm going to whip out the die grinder tomorrow.

in case anyone was wondering, here's the work I did to make the intake manifold a single pass...

and here is the port work I've been up too lately since the car is down waiting on a new radiator....

obviously I'm not done yet, basically just opened up the supercharger inlet A LOT, still got more to do, and smoothed out all the ridges in the LS4 throttle body and smoothed the outlet of the supercharger. Hopefully it'll show some pretty nice gains.

thanks man. the single pass was rather easy. The port work is a pain. I hope it pays off in the end. I'm not doing anything crazy like some of the ported superchargers I've seen, but I'd still like to pick up some MPH. 104 last season made me want to puke. lol. I would love to come out the gates with a 110 trap speed, but it is going to take some work. I don't know how ole hatrickstu did it with such few mods. I'm thinking he's got a lot of time in that tune. I'll be paying area47 another visit once the track reopens this year.

wow ralli... didnt think u were going to post pics of the single pass lol ... did the oil dipstick give you problems as well? i think mine was set up slightly differant... my dipstick could not be located the same way as stock... i accually had to take it out...and form it so that it would almost come strait up and it ends up on the other side of the snout of the sc...other wise those addition peices coming out of the mani get in the way..

good luck with all your work!

I just bend the dipstick how I see fit. It moved rather easily. But yea, it was in the way at first. No biggie.

I finally posted pics because I figured if the single pass manifolds were coming out, they should have been for sale already. There is no fault in posting up my own custom manifold. I'm not selling the product. But now people can finally see what it looks like.

no problem. I'll see what I can find. They randomly pop up on ebay.

I am done with all the porting now, I'm starting to polish everything up and smooth it all out. I just got finished plugging the silencer holes. I figured why not. I've already got it all apart. LOL. Hopefully my radiator arrives monday and i can get the car back up and running by the end of the day tuesday. I just hope the weather stays nice that long for me.

BTW, I won't be putting the LS4 throttle body on yet because I don't have an adapter or anything to mount my stock intake and I don't have a 3" intake yet. So for now, I'll be rolling around on a ported/polished supercharger with plugged holes.

got the supercharger finished today. All ported and polished. cleaned it up real nice. Put it back together. Wish I could throw it on the car and go for a drive, but that wouldn't end well. LOL. Still waiting on the radiator to show up.

anyways, if it still isn't too cold once I get the car together, I'll grab my friend's laptop and get some logs. I'll check out the AFR's to see if it changes that at all also.

NOTE: the ls4 throttle body and 3" cai will NOT be on the car yet.

I'm still waiting on the radiator to show up. But just for reference, I do plan to add the killer chiller to my mods list. I am going to be testing out Joe Kincaid's top level kit. So I'm not sure if I'll be able to afford the adjustable cam gears now. but it's no biggie.

well, it looks like this is now a build thread. Cyl 1 went "pop goes the weezle" yesterday. So looks like I'm done for the year. I really thought 2009 was going to be special for me. I guess it is in a sence that the motor is going to be built now.

Plans are as follows:
ported head
upgraded valve springs
diamond 9.5:1 compression pistons
arp head studs

possibilities are as follows:
bigger valves
adjustable cam gears

unfortunately I won't be able to afford a TVS blower right now. But that doesn't mean that I'm not going to get one eventually.

hell no, I'm not going to be out the whole year. I'm going to try to get this **** running before the tracks open in april. I got 2 1/2 months to get it done. That's plenty of time. The head will be pulled this weekend and sent off next week to clear image in washington. Stage 3 (ugh, I hate "stage" talk, it sounds so ricerish) port job. Reusing stock valves, no reason to go oversized valves, I don't ever plan to make a **** ton of power and I plan on using the tvs. Upgraded valve springs for sure though for 8K rpms revs.

I just did the compression test and cyl 1 is reading 90psi, so it's definitely done.

TJ, don't worry man, I'll be running in time to put that s2k to shame. LOL.
