A different approach to modding your cobalt
That's all I needed to hear out of the rest of the garbage. I got almost every ounce of power available from an essentially stock engine. Last step would be to go with the meth injection after the supercharger as well to try and get the temps down even more.
Glad to see you got something out of it.
Wait, wait, there it is your still professing that the essential feature of meth/inj is cooling. Like getting your temps down is the reason youre running as well as you are!
Modified Ostrich syndrome I guess, huh?? You'll just ignore the fact that your adding extra fuel AND oxygen that the engine couldnt bring in on its own, as well as artificially increasing cylinder pressures(this is what creation of power is all about, btw) and just keep telling yourself and the world that your results are from getting the "temps down.", because thats the way you wish it was. Bitchin.

A. The converted turbo guys are running pretty low IAT #'s, hmm, wonder why they are putting down 3XXwhp and over 400whp pretty reliably and safe then.
B. Everyone still supercharged can't seem to keep the temps below 100degrees on anything smaller than a stock pulley, even when using meth. The TVS testers have IAT's still over 100 degrees, and only 1 person has broke 300whp.
C. Finally, I admit that meth does more than cool, but I have a theory that if the temps can get down around 50 degrees, by spraying meth right before the head, I can squeeze out even more "hidden" power and pick up that top end pull.
I do have a question....i just modded my cobalt with a CA stage 5 kit and i just got my ECM back from re programming and i installed it yesterday and now the engine light stays on is there anything that u know that is causing that....now i dont have the water/meth injector or the heat exchanger installed yet could that be causing this?
You could do what the Honda guys do for venting the hood. I did it on my Integra and it works quite well.
Get some longer bolts and some spacers (washers/nuts/bushings) and place them between the hood and the hinge. It raises the hood up a little in the rear and lets out a ton of heat. Not sure if I would do it on my Cobalt, but it works great on my Integra.

Do you have a catless downpipe? That's the only thing I can think of.

Edit: I updated my first post. I'm currently deployed.
Update to first post as well!
Currentlty DEPLOYED to KYRGYZSTAN!
I'm currently deployed to Manas AB Kyrgyzstan. I'll be back by the end of September and continue with my R&D for cooling mods and the Budget Builders like me. Hopefully, 12's will occur still on stock pulley. Also, before I deployed, I hit 8.7@80mph at my local 1/8th, previous there was 8.9@79, all I did was take some **** out of the back, like the seats, spare and any junk. That would have knocked me down below a 13.5 for sure had I been at KCIR again. The elevation is higher at the 1/8th I go to.
OK, new update, I found a product that is pretty amazing, I'm not gonna post much about it right now cause it hasn't been tested on a ss/sc and I don't want any flamers. But it's been proven on other supercharged cars. It should help me meet my goal of lowering IAT's below 50degrees and I won't even have to spray direct injection. I eventually want to do direct injection meth, but I'm gonna wait as that requires tapping into the intake manifold. So when I get back, I'm gonna add a pacesetter header, custom catless downpipe, dual pass with opt. B, and this new cooling method. IAT's should both be below 50degrees, power should be pretty high, something close to 250 +or-5. I'm not kidding at all. Top end should get pretty nasty even for stock pulley. This part ain't cheap though, this will be for the people that are desperate for cooling power potential. 12's will be had. Don't ask me what the product is, cause I'm not spilling until I dyno and track test it.

well wtf? i may want to give this cooling method a go! why cant you tell? i mean its our fault if we mess it up. pm me if you are willing to talk a bit. im going to start cooling my car down now that i have my 2.7 in. instead of spending money on a meth kit and tuning it i may want to go your "new" route. please pm me and let me know

I am not pissed at all.
