Exhaust problems or codes?

When you do full exhaust on a Cobalt SS is it common to get any trouble codes? or are there any specific brands or parts that give you codes?

Im not sure. I never heard of any throwing codes. Maybe wheb it comes down to the o2 sensor on the dp or possibly the headers.

Once you get a tune though you can have it tuned out

You will most likely throw a P0420 cat converter inneficient code. Just tune it out and your good to go

Do you get that cat code, even if you have a cat?

Sometimes you do, depends on the cat. My Vibrant downpipe did when it was catted

If you go from a full 2.5 to a full 3 it'll mess with your o2 sensor readings and set a code. Time for a tune.

this is not totally true. if you go from the stock downpipe to an aftermarket 3" downpipe you have the potential to set a p0420 cat code, but a 3" catback will not cause a code to be set.

your 02 sensors are in the header/manifold, and in the downpipe after the cat. so if you increase the flow in that area beyond the set parameters in your tune a CEL is possible. a catback exhaust (2.5", 2.75", 3") will not cause a CEL.
